They have some very interesting contestants this year.

Usually takes me a few shows to care who gets sent home.

Why can't anyone make a risotto? Not surprised that he went home after that fiasco.
That Andrew was just plain scary. Yikes! It is always amazing to me when they think they know as much as Gordon Ramsay about cooking, you find those same kinds of people on his show Kitchen Nightmares and they are always wondering why their business is failing.

By now you would think that anyone preparing to be a contestant on HK would spend a lot of time MASTERING the dang risotto before the show starts!!

But if they were all good at making the risotto, we wouldn't get to hear him scream at them. "You stupid donkey!" (That's my favorite one)

Have not had a chance to watch this season yet but I'm looking forward to getting back into it next week!

Hi Novell!! Hope you and your family have all been doing well.

I guess you're right, if they really knew how to make everything well there wouldn't be much of a show. My Billy loves it when he calls them donkey too. And Muppets.

Loved seeing GR and his family playing soccer with the girls as part of their reward last night. I still do not have a favorite or see one who stands out in the crowd as a leader.

Hi Valerie!
Chef Ramsay does have a lovely family, he seems like such a fun guy when he's not in the kitchen.
So far I really like Nilka and maybe Benjamin. Time will tell, none of them seem really exceptional yet.

i agree! theres a list of foods one should expect to cook on that show- Risotto, Beef Wellington, a decent egg... every season Chef Ramsay has the contestants cooking them.
I am the worst cook ever, but even i can make pasta and mashed potatos LOL.... i think its the pressure that makes the contestants slip up a lot.
I like when he calls them Donuts... and when Chef says 'This looks like a dog's dinner. I wouldn't even feed this to a dog' LOL- which is it? A dog's dinner or not...
also (shhhh, confession here) I think Chef Ramsay is one hot pepper... LOL nice accent, and he still has a great body. The face ain't much to look at LOL but the way to my heart is through my stomach.... he had me at 'chiffonade'.

PS I love when the Maitre D had to work with the Italian Pizza guy as his assistant. The Italian dude (Marcello?) said he didn't know how to spell 'foie gras' (pronounced 'Fwah Grah' )because he doesn't know how to write in English.... LOL the Belgian Maitre D reminded him Foie gras is French!, then took back the tickets to 'punish' the contestant

I was so happy the Italian pizza chef did such a fabulous job with his station; Nilka, too! I like her. That Scott just thinks he knows it all and Chef was right when he told him he's not as good as he think she is. Who appointed him (Scott) as mentor to everyone? Sheesh!

Joanne, love your profile pic. You look fabulous!

I agree - Chef Ramsey is hot! I'm watching tonight's episode as I type this - they can't cook a hamburger.... I've never even had risotto (let alone cooked it), but I can cook a hamburger!

What a disaster! The red team went from bad to worse. I couldn't take one more day of Scott and am so glad he was sent home. Talking all of the way out the door about what a great chef he is... And Maria, that was almost like a cartoon.
I felt so heartbroken for Salvatore when they found out that he couldn't read or write. I'm sure that Chef Ramsay will do something to help him with that, he does have a really good heart under all of that gruff and I can't see him just letting that go by without doing something to help.

Do you think it is true or he is "playing" Chef Ramsay?

Didn't he say at the beginning that he had been in the country for something like 20 years and he kept his accent and even "faked" it because the ladys liked it?

If he is telling the truth I hope Chef Ramsey does help him in some way but right now I am just wondering.

I didn't even think of that, Granny. That would be really terrible if he was lying about it.

Poor Salvatore, I'm a gonna mees him.
I felt really bad for Siobhan the way that Ben went after her and then everyone else followed suit. I always hate it when they gang up on one person. She was a little hapless but that was just mean. Ben has turned into quite the jerk.
Most, but not all, of these people seems to be very low class and I can't see them running a fine restaurant like the Savoy.

I was so sad to see Nilka go, I really liked her. She had such a rough service it was hard to watch.

So far I guess Holly is my top runner.

Ben is getting on my last nerve.

Is it just me or is this the worse group ever????

That was horrible.

The way she begged broke my heart.

It was hard to see her fall apart during the service.

What about Ed? Think he can get over himself and be any good?

I'm not sure about Ed yet. I am thinking Holly, Jay for the last two.
I hope they get rid of Ben really soon, his behavior is so ugly. He keeps zeroing in on a new victim to go after each service.
This really is a lousy crop of contenders, I agree. It is strange but this is the type they seem to pick, the winners for the past two years seemed pretty sloppy to me too.

Hate the thoughts of Holli and Jay together...YUK! I do think that they will be the final two.

Ben HAS to go...can't stand him.

It's been fun to watch - my husband is really into this show. We do like to watch Ramsey....something about him. I will be happy when it's over though.

Wonder if Holly even cared if the father of her son(and I think she said he lived with his father)saw her sticking her bottom on top of Jay?

I am NOT a prude but THAT part could have been left out IMO.

I have to say that I really don't care for any of these people. It would be funny if Autumn ended up winning. She looks like she is sleepwalking most of the time.
I would say that Jay is probably the most qualified chef out of the bunch if I had to choose for ability alone.
Master Chef after that was much better!

I honestly wonder why it wasn't Ben. He seems like he is much more prepared and able to actually run a kitchen, which Holli is just a good cook. But she can grow into it, I guess. Maybe it's just her loose morals (not sure how to describe it nicely) that bother me about her, (especially as she's a mom!), that shows me she doesn't value herself very highly...

I think it was his attitude. I am sure GR sees waay more than we do.

Jay was right there with her in the morals department so I give them both a thumbs down on that part.

I hope the castoffs don't ruin it for either of them next week.

I like Holly and have rooted for her but I can see Jay being the best overall.

I was happy enough with the results. Hope she makes a wonderful new life for herself and that sweet little boy, and works things out with the boy's father.
Was also happy that they didn't drag it out for more than an hour.
