Hush my mouth! Two excellent solutions! I have both the sponges and daubers and haven't used either yet. I'm off to try both. Thank you, thank you, thank you both, MkMiracle and Beads!! I love this board!

p.s. I'm also going to check out the tutorial, Penguin!
What are you using to ink your edges with? If it is the ink pad you won't get that blended look it will be sharp. Try the yellow sponges...or my favorite make up sponges. It's all about the sponge. You probably aren't doing anything wrong!
I use the cats eye inks, they seem to blend nicely. I prefer the chalk inks as they are softer. but the daubers are a must as another post mentioned, especially if you want to color coordinate your stamped image with the inked edges.

I've posted a tutorial for an Asian influenced card featuring traditional elements and a contemporary design to create a bold new look. I think you'll like it. Check it out on my blog at http://tinyurl.com/cc2wkd . Thanks.
texasjodylynn and alimarbles, you rock!!! I've had the Peerless watercolors for years, tried the markers on "plastic" technique, too, and never really got the look I wanted. can't wait to get all those supplies out and try again with your instructions!!

I have noticed that some glue brands work better than others, look for the clearest ones on the store, also high temp ones seem to be clearer. Hope it helps, I need a new glue gun, my keeps dripping but it is OLD! Here is a helpful tip. Make up a bunch of clear ones and die a bunch as you need them. I keep them in clear masking tape containers (My BIL works at a paper mill and they just throw them way) and I glue magnets to the back and stick them to the filing cabinet that way I can always find stuff.
What are clear masking tape containers?
Second question is how do you get the glue dots so round and perfect? Also they look like they are concave on the back. Is there a trick to acheiving this?

Here is another use for nail polish.... I make my own brads! I stick new brass brads in a piece of foam and paint with the polish and when dry, beautiful brads. So if you are doing a pic of a special dress, you can use the polish you wore with it so the brads match!

Here is a link to dew drop (glue gun ) pearls. Many of your questions are answered there. Both dew drops and pearls made with hot glue are done in the same way, just what you do after making them is different. If you use dye to color you get dew drops, if you use pearl ex or similar product you get "pearls". Look for my posts on making them there. If you still have any questions feel free to pm me and I'll do my best to explain. Forums at Splitcoaststampers
Here is a super tutorial using nesties, for the newbie, it explains how to cut and emboss, and then for the pro, she teaches a new way to use your die!!
