Hush my mouth! Two excellent solutions! I have both the sponges and daubers and haven't used either yet. I'm off to try both. Thank you, thank you, thank you both, MkMiracle and Beads!! I love this board!

Good luck!

You took the words right out of my mouth!

Aren't the ladies here just grand?!?!?

Please forgive me if this is a stupid question but what is the DTP technique?

Thanks,
Talisa

biblesistersmom 04-27-2009 02:39 PM

I have no idea, but now you have me curious, too!

Lynn in St. Louis 04-27-2009 02:48 PM

It's not a stupid question. DTP stands for Direct To Paper. I hope that helps explain the technique.

I use the cats eye inks, they seem to blend nicely. I prefer the chalk inks as they are softer. but the daubers are a must as another post mentioned, especially if you want to color coordinate your stamped image with the inked edges.

Thanks Lynn.

I am guessing you mean the ink directly on the paper as opposed to on a stamp or sponge, dauber, etc. Right?

When you click on the link it puts it in your address bar. You will notice it starts with http:////

remove 2 of the forward slashes and leave the rest the same before hitting enter. That will work until it is properly fixed

Calv 04-29-2009 03:55 AM

Sorry, my fault, as Deb says, too many slashes.....i can't see a post edit buton, is there one?

Actualy, heres the link again.....

Hope it helps, I need a new glue gun, my keeps dripping but it is OLD! Here is a helpful tip. Make up a bunch of clear ones and die a bunch as you need them. I keep them in clear masking tape containers (My BIL works at a paper mill and they just throw them way) and I glue magnets to the back and stick them to the filing cabinet that way I can always find stuff.

What are clear masking tape containers?

Second question is how do you get the glue dots so round and perfect? Also they look like they are concave on the back. Is there a trick to acheiving this?

ok one more question ......where to find the glitter glue sticks....I have looked everywhere even the floral dept

Divanurse 05-05-2009 01:55 AM

I'd like to make some of these but I have a question. Can I use wax paper for this or do I have to have a non stick sheet?

Not sure wax paper would work, but parchment paper would. I used an old teflon cookie sheet, and it worked fine.

I am loving this thread. It is in my favs.

Here is another use for nail polish.... I make my own brads! I stick new brass brads in a piece of foam and paint with the polish and when dry, beautiful brads. So if you are doing a pic of a special dress, you can use the polish you wore with it so the brads match!

I found some at Michael's in the kid's crafts area, a couple months ago for about $5, I think.

Here is a link to dew drop (glue gun ) pearls. Many of your questions are answered there. Both dew drops and pearls made with hot glue are done in the same way, just what you do after making them is different. If you use dye to color you get dew drops, if you use pearl ex or similar product you get "pearls". Look for my posts on making them there. If you still have any questions feel free to pm me and I'll do my best to explain.
