We altered a pocket calendar for my Stamp Club on Friday night, and as always (promised them I would) a tutorial was done up for it.

http://scrapmoremel.blogspot.com/200...-tutorial.html

For you who alter already, it's the same ol' thing. :)

Here's one that I did as I made my Christmas gifts this year. It is a Card Portfolio but can also be a unique folio card to hold a photo, bookmark, or other small gift.

Wishing everyone a very blessed and Merry Christmas :-D

I received one of these block for Christmas and love it but... When I was getting presents from under the tree I got burned. Literally burnt. The block was so hot after 4 or 5 hours it was impossible to move. Any idea why it would heat up so much? Is that normal? Could there be too long of a light stran inside? I want to fix it because it is so pretty.

Pyramid Favor Box

I posted this to my blog before Christmas, but my computer crashed before I could post it on SCS. These are the favors that I created for my Christmas dinner, but they can be used for any holiday or occasion.

They are also square on the bottom, so there is ample room for tucking something away. I hope you enjoy it and find some good uses!

I didn't read this entire thread, but I made blocks similar to this for a craft fair this year. I used a strand of white mini lights with 20 lights on each strand. I found them at WalMart for $1.50 each. Michaels has a 35 bulb strand of colored lights, but that made the block too hot.

Hope that helps!

How to do topiary trees.
Start with the pot at the base, 3cm wide x 2.5cm high punch out a notch at the centre base using a regular hole punch positioned half on half off the edge.
Add a top rim 3cm x 0.75cm
leave a gap about 0.75cm this is where the stem goes draw it in at the end.
Using a circle stencil draw lightly in pencil a 30mm (3cm) diameter circle, or punch one out. fill in using paper or ink and dauber straight through the stencil!
leave a gap about 0.75cm again.
Now draw a 22mm diameter circle, and stick or fill in the same way.
leave a gap.
Now draw a 15mm circle. fill again.
Draw in the stems and you're done.

You can use single tiny stamps to 'fill-in' in shades of green ink.

You can stamp in shades of blues, and cyan, and aqua using tiny snowflake stamps and add sparkle using stickles type glitter glues, for a frosty look looks great!

You can cover with glue and glitter.

You can cover with felt roundels.

Go on its easier than it sounds! let me know how you got on wiht it. maybe i'll upload a sheet to make it clearer.

my first video tutorial

I posted my first video tutorial to my blog today!! I'm soo excited. It needs work. It was long and I floundered a bit, especially at the end. But hey, I'm not the most computer savy, so I'm pretty happy. BTW, it's for a lip balm holder, if you're interested in checking it out. www.stampuplisa.blogspot.com

I've already figured out a way to improve the camera angle and that and have filmed my second project to go up later. Now, I've just got to figure out how to add text so I can put the paper sizes and score measurements on the screen.

Congratulations, Lisa! What a way to start the New Year! Looks good to me, I haven't attempted such a thing yet! Love those lip balm holders, too.....I made a batch right before Christmas as little gifts. They were fun and yours are very cute!

BBStampin 01-01-2009 02:11 PM

Very cute projects. I could follow your tutorial. I am not that brave yet.

kyteecher 01-01-2009 03:16 PM

Good job! DH bought me a little video camera for my birthday around the middle of December. I've played with it a bit, but I can't quite get the positioning of the camera right for my tutorials yet.
