Mermaid Markers Mini Review and Coloring

This is my first time using Mermaid Markers by Jane Davenport and American Crafts (sold at Michaels). I did a mini-review of them then used them to color this cute stamp by Dreamerland Crafts called My Dear Puppy. In the review you can see how well they mix and lift as well as their vibrancy.

I also have a full step-by-step for creating the card here:

Thanks so much for sharing.

Thanks for sharing, Mary! I had these briefly, and they were just too intense and flowy for me - I'm not skilled at loose brush work, so my tendency, too, was to just create a palette with the ink rather than use the brushes directly, and I just felt like I was better off using the liquid paints and reinkers that I already have. I ended up selling my set.

Yeah, they are pretty intense. They are probably best suited to bright backgrounds and abstracts; they are rather impossible to use straight out of the marker for anything realistic. I do think they are pretty nice brushes though so if you have a use for them, once they are empty, you can refill them with whatever you want. You could also add water to dilute them and/or add mica powder for some shimmer.
