Faux Bacon
I had a request from a SCS member for instructions for making a mailable card embellishment that looked like a tasty piece of bacon. I can't even tell you how much that appealed to my sense of humor, in addition to my love for creating, and for a good challenge.

You didn't!!!! You DID!!!! LOL. Love it. And it really looks like bacon. Amazing... The fork was the perfect crafting tool for this project.
This is one of the reasons I love crafting! No end to what anyone can do. Thanks for the smile.
this is so awesome!! Thanks for sharing!!
OMG, I can't wait to go make a card using this bacon technique. What guy wouldn't want to get a card like this??
YES! This is so fabulous! LOVE it! Now I need to go buy some white satin ribbon--THANK YOU FOR SHARING! :)
So impressive and very creative! I love how it turned out.
Awesome bacon, Dina! Your finished card turned out great!
That is amazing! My sons are the biggest bacon fans in the world! Now I have to go buy some alcohol markers.
Thank you, I am just stunned at your talent! |
This is adorable, and so realistic! I would love to see what sentiments people could come up with to go on a card that has bacon on it. "Thanks for bacon my day," or "you're always bacon me smile," come to mind. LOL.
You crack me up! "If you like your bacon more crispy, use more brown" - great way to start the day, thank you!
Unbelievable!! Love this! It looks so real. :)
This is awesome. I enjoyed watching your bacon come to life!
Too funny! Great for Valentine's Day..."I love you more than bacon!"
Cool!!!
Oh how fun!!!
Absolute GENIUS!!
I never would have thought to ask about a tutorial, let alone come up with such a great technique! I do not have any alcohol markers. Would it work at all w/ the SU markers? I often color my ribbon with them. By the way, using the fork to hold your bacon was a fun touch, too! |
Very well done...(the tutorial that is...smile) Very cute and creative...thanks for sharing.

Great tutorial!!! Thanks Dini!!!! I don't recall the details but there is a stamp somewhere that says "I love you more than bacon" ... It's probably a clear stamp or I'd most likely have bought it. |
YES!! Thanks, Dina! A classic for sure!
Our pastor LOVES bacon. I should really create a card!!!!!
LOL.....someday people are going to see pics of bacon on a card and say, "what????"

Now if we could just come up with a grease-free way to integrate the smell of bacon into the ribbon...

This is so funny. You are a creative genius!
Dini, you are amazing!
Who would have thought of that? |
Love it !!!!

You might try non-alcohol markers but the colours wouldn't blend the same so it wouldn't look as realistic. Try it and let us know. It's only a few inches of ribbon after all!
