Default TLC587 ~ Collar Fold Card ~ {05/23/2016}

An easy-peasy simple fold for you today. I've seen a few here and there, so I don't know where the design originated. I have seen some of them describe it as a Peekaboo fold, but panic not - this is NOT the fun but more challenging interactive Peekaboo card in our tutorials section, so to save confusion I am going with the alternative title of Collar Fold.
This is simply a snip, two folds and you have a panel to use as a card front - just a couple of simple embellishments needed - or more, as you desire.

Simply take a piece of DP the size of your card front.
Trim a small amount off the top and left side - I just trimmed 1/4" off mine.
Mark halfway along the longer edge of the card. You can do this easily by gently folding it in half and just pinching the halfway point.
Snip or cut in a short distance, depending on how acute you want the angle of the folds to be. For my dog sample, I cut in 1 3/4".
Gently score a line from the end of this cut outwards to the top and bottom corners.
Fold the DP to the front - see note below, you can still play without double-sided paper.
Either attach directly to the card base, or add a partial layer behind (the embossed brick wall in my dog sample).
You can stamp in the exposed area if you like.
Decorate - and you're done.

collar1.jpg collar2.jpg

collar3.jpg collar4.jpg

Don't have any double-sided DP? Don't worry. Simply sponge some colour onto the back of your card and stamp with a patterned stamp. This is what I did on my second card - but I made a mistake with the orientation of the script stamp - and had to go with a different card design.

Here's a link to our TLC587 Collar Fold gallery

Here are my sample cards:

Remember to use the keyword TLC587 when you are uploading. It's helpful (to the hostesses for sure!) if you come back and leave a link on this thread .

If you're not sure how to link your card on the thread here, here's how:

1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one window for your card and one for this thread.
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.

A suggestion for ringing the changes a little...I saw a card the other day where the creator hadn't scored to the corners, but to maybe less than half an inch in. I'm only on my cell phone till I get home from work, so the easiest thing is to add a link rather than try to describe it: Happy Birthday Corsage by budy98 .

TLC challenge called to use the Collar Technique - and I had a fun time with that. It was getting something to decorate the card with --- went through leaves, flowers, and more flowers --- finally said you can't go wrong with a cat!

Thanks for the fun challenge, great cards everyone!
Just wasn't sure if the collar folds were supposed to be attached, on this card I left them loose, so stamped on the opposite side

Here is the link I hope I got it figured out
