A super-simple technique challenge for you from me this month
, and one that's useful at this time of year to have on hand for Christmas gift-wrapping - a
snowman tag/bookmark .
I first made these many, many years ago when I used to mind my BFF's two young children. So long ago I don't even have a photo of my first ones! They make a fun gift tag. I almost always give books as gifts to my nieces and nephews, and so long as you don't make your snowmen too bulky they make perfect bookmarks too. The hats and scarves are a great way to use up some of those small scraps we all have lying around.
I've attached a tutorial at the bottom of this post in both Word and pdf format, which will give you the measurements I used for mine, and general guidelines. Also
THIS LINK should take you to the same tutorial in Google Docs, for any who use that. Feel free to ring the changes but
do use the tutorial as your jumping-off point .
I'm not looking for tags with snowmen stamped on them ;).

The pictures in the tutorial show versions I've made in the past.
For my samples for today I made two new ones: one is a totally flat bookmark style one, apart from tying a little snowflake button onto the fibres in the hat.
I decided to also try out a top-hatted version. This one is definitely NOT book-safe, as I used the same ribbon that I used on his hat to tie around the "neck" for a scarf, and added buttons, wobbly eyes and gems to finish him off.
