You know, I don't think my dh has ever mentioned anything about what I spend on my stamping/scrapping habit. He's even been with me to buy Copics (I do the purchase single pen with 40% off coupon at HL so he's just another body to buy with a coupon) and hasn't said a word about it. He does love his own expensive habits so that may be it but oddly, he doesn't mind the stupid expensive pens! Also I think he likes that I make special one of a kind just for him cards for special occasions like father's day too. He left for work at 3am this morning and I had left his card on his keys so I won't know what he thinks until he gets home tonight at 8pm.

My hubby is completly supportive of my habbit, I just thought this was funny when he told me the reason I buy copics. I will have to see if he will start buying copics at hobby lobby with me  .
My DH just says the same time he see's them or I mention them "You spent HOW much on MARKERS???"
But he is supportive and I'm going to the copic certification this week. Although at first he wanted to know why I would want to go to the certification since he thinks my coloring is fine.
If the markers had any buttons or lit up or needed to be plugged in then he wouldn't care how much they cost, lol.
I am hopefully going to get to go to the copic certification in October, I can't wait. I hear ya about the gas prices, we are looking into not driving my beloved SUV because of gas prices. I can make a car payment and fuel a car for what it is costing me in gas for my cruiser :(.
My husband doesn't have any idea what I spend on stamping ~ I'm trusted to be self-limiting, I think, which is actually working!! But I love to say that I'm saving money on gas because all of my stamp-related shopping is done online!!
You just have to tell him that they are $1.00/marker and all will be good! LOL. When I started collecting them, he thought I was CUH-RAZY.. but now he totally accepts it since he appreciates the results
Once you have a handle on how to use them, the results are really priceless
I have to laugh. My dh and my two boys went with me to HL this weekend and we bought 4 copics to add to my collection. Each one of us had a coupon and 4.00. My boys and husband are use to my stamping habit.

love it! I need to do that with my kids and dh, we could get 5...unless they let my 3 year old make her own purchase!!
It's Tori from the Oasis!! Hope you are doing well. Good to see you on these boards!! I love this place!
I have not made the Copic leap yet, but seriously considering it after seeing how cool they are!

Ha ha! I do the same thing! Most of the time its just with my 7 year old. Haven't gotten the 5 year old to use a coupon yet, but I will with my husband on that off chance I've forced him into Michaels.
Ignorance is ALWAYS bliss at my home...and besides, my DH loves his gadgets and games...and they are costly too..I know that my COPICS and other huge stash of goodies and supplies bring more joy to others than his games and gadgets..lol. :-)
My DH loves the air compressor. He gets a group of guys around him and they all get excited about how "manly" it is to airbrush with markers. I think it's the excuse to use a compressor. Compressors are Macho, coloring little pictures with markers alone just doesn't quite cut it. ;)
"Ignorance is Bliss" is the motto in our house as well. Although I started putting together an inventory about a week ago and it did cause an eyebrow raise or two. But for the most part, he knows it makes me happy and I no longer give him any crap about the softball bats, etc. that he buys.
My husband and I both have an allotment for fun each month. He doesn't say anything, and I don't say anything as long as our crazy purchases are in our budget range. Personally, I used Christmas and birthday money for Copics, so he has even less to say Although I am tempted to buy another set of 12 (I like originals, they are more spendy but worth it to me).
I am not familiar with the Copics . What would they replace?
In my house, they don't replace but rather add to my ever-growing stash of supplies.
But on a serious note, Copics are alcohol based markers that color REALLY nicely. I just read another thread with a really good explanation of Copic markers versus Tombow/SU/other water-based markers.
I bought a few copics and decided I won't make the leap but on speding, DH's hobby is photography and his latest wish is a $1800 camera, $500 lens, etc.... so he never says one thing about what I spend on stamping. Do you know how many stamps and toys I could buy with $1800!
