 Hi! I'm a long time lurker and this is my first post. I am looking for a set of lots different sentiments. Just some good basic ones for the most common card types. Where do you recommend?
Sentiment stamps are available through lots of companies both in sets and as single stamps. I think for someone just starting out and with a limited budget, that you might want to start with some more "all purpose" sentiments that can be used on a variety of cards.
"Thinking of You" is one that is appropriate for just about anything: notecards, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Get Well, Sympathy...
"Happy Birthday"... we all have lots of birthday cards we give in a year
"Celebrate" could be for a birthday, graduation, retirement, last day of school or any other happy occassion
"Thank You"
One of my favorite sentiment stamps says "May Your Day Bloom With Happiness". I have used it for many many different types of cards. It goes with any floral image (which many of us have lots of) and is just a nice thought for anyone who receives it.
I concur with PapertreyInk! I also love Verve. Stampin Up has a whole section in their catalog devoted to them with a lot of selection as well. I also just recently got my hands on the TAC catty and they have a huge selection that works nicely for scrapbooks or cards.
Thanks so much for all your suggestions!! I really like PapertreyInk ones that were suggested, so I might get those. But I am still checking out the others that were mentioned. Thanks for being soo helpful!
Cornish Heritage Farms has several sets of sentiments.

You can always use your computer and print the sentiment directly on your card before stamping and embellishing. I do that sometimes, and also put my name on the back. Looks very upscale.
Thanks again for all your help. I've been having fun "window" shopping I really like alot of the ones at Verve too. Now I will just have to narrow down my choices:-D
