Versamark Dazzle
Has anyone tried this product yet? I'm thinking of ordering a pad, but I'd like to hear someone's opinion first! Anyone?

I personally don't have any, but a lot of people here have expressed disappointment with them in that they weren't very sparkly. It is supposed to have a shimmer to it. It was on my list and then came off after hearing a lot of poor reviews here. Like everything else though, some people absolutley love it. If some of those people offer up an opinion, it might go back on my list.

Darlene, I'm ordering from Ellen Hutson's store ... she is having a sale today! Let me know if you need the link and I'll look it up.
Thanks Sonya ... I think I wont bother ordering it right now, I'll wait to hear some good reviews first!

They do have a subtle shimmer. I used them in an Archiver's class. If you are looking for something with some real bling this is not it. I liked them though and bought both the champagne & frost colors. I think they will be pretty for subtle background stamping. Since "Santa" actually brought them to me at Christmas I haven't had a chance to play with them yet.

Here you go, Darlene: http://www.ellenhutson.com/servlet/StoreFront
I have the Champagne dazzle inkpad, and I love it! It's more of a subtle shimmer, but it's still pretty.

I have Champagne and Frost and agree that it's a really subtle shimmer. I used it on a set of Christmas cards with the Canvas background stamp and really liked the look. If you're looking for something really blingy--this isn't it.

both colors were demonstrated at my LSS.. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. as soon as she sells out she will NOT be restocking and has already expressed her disappointment to Tsuineko.
seriously, almost NO difference between them and the plain old versamark and the price was ridiculously expensive.
in fact on some colors of cardstock it looked quite awful.

I purchased one of each yesterday at HL because they were 50% and I figure if I don't like them I can still use them to emboss. The weird thing was that Versamark was marked at $9.99 and the Dazzles were marked at $5.99, so I got Versamark for $3 each instead of $5. Wonder if it was a tagging mistake or if I have mistakenly assumed that they are just like regular Versamark and simply have a subtle shimmer. Dunno, but I think I got a good deal.

Has anyone tried the resist technique with Versamark Dazzle? I stamped with dazzle on glossy paper, then heat set with iron and brayered over Memento ink. The shimmer all but disappeared. Does anyone have any tips?
When just stamped, it is a lovely shimmer, very subtle but pretty.

I tried it in an Archiver's class - and was disappointed. You really have to move the paper around to see the sparkle. You'd be better off with a metallic ink.

I noticed the same thing! Embossing over these just killed the shimmer. Honestly, there are plenty of other pads that do the same thing - Opalites for one. I can't exactly say I'm sorry that I bought them... but I wouldn't buy them again.
