Default Using these Tim Holtz products?

I saw these two Tim Holtz items at Joann and wondered if I would really make any use of them.
1-boxed roll of vinyl(?) film sheeting. I think the suggestion was to place them over something that is diecut to produce a glazed look.
2-mirror finish sheets Is there any difference from some glossy silver cardstock? Mirror vs. glossy make that much difference to you?

Although I believe I have seen videos of someone using these, I don't remember the technique or finished effect. I don't "need" these at all, do I? Even at 50% off, they just weren't calling me.

I would buy them because (a) they sound cool and (b) if I wanted to make replicas of the awesome shadow boxes and other big, detailed projects by Tim it would help to have all the stuff he uses. For cards and tags "Tim Style" I would skip those steps or use something similar I already have.

I think the roll of vinyl might be t!m's 'frosted film'. Here's a YouTube video of t!m doing a demo of how to use the film:

Here's are YouTube demos about the mirror sheet:

Thanks for the links. I watched all the videos. The frosted film doesn't show up well on camera; so I still don't know about that one. I don't think I want the mirror sheets, as they aren't recommended for cutting with wafer thin dies (which I use a lot). Glossy metallic paper seems better for my needs.
