Default tools for lefties

I just saw on an Instagram post from Tim Holtz that his Tonic scissors & glass mat for lefty makers are debuting. Scissors available now, glass mat in September.

Interesting, thanks for the info. I wish Tim would use his blog again, not everyone does social media. Anyway, I'd be interested in the scissors. I hope they're not serrated like his original scissors. I always get edge marks in my paper. I invested in the sewing scissors and they work great. I'll pass on the glass mat as its not cheap and I already invested in a wonky original. I won't trust Tonic with something like that again.

fifiswan, I'm not sure if these scissors are the same, but I think they are. Tim was demoing them last year, and showed that only one blade is serrated- the other is plain. So depending which way round you hold them, you either get a smooth edge, or a serrated one. I had a pair of the original Tonic scissors from a few years ago, and lo & behold when I checked, they were the same. And somehow, every single time I'd used them, I'd had the serrated side!
And this is the Fb post about the new tools:

Hi Shaz,

Thanks for the tip and post. I've heard him say that about the turning the scissors around and tried but I still got the marks. Considering I still can't cut straight even with a really good trimmer, its most likely user error, lol. The sewing scissors are working well but that won't stop me from giving the new ones a try. smh

I wonder if the problem you are having with marks on the paper is because of the same ol' leftie using a rightie tool problem we always have to deal with?

I checked a close-up image of them and they do have the serrated edge so a pass for me. Thank you, Tim, for saving me a little money (now I can justify it to myself to buy some his holiday stamps, lol)
