Default Tear Bears

I found a great source for tear bear patterns and real thick mulberry paper to make them with. This woman has the cutest patterns that I have seen and they are very reasonable. I became interested in tear bears when I saw the two page scrapbook layout that sold for $760 on ebay (There is a thread about it in the Scrapbook Threads). The seller had used the cute tear bears in it, so I did an extensive search for patterns and paper and ran across this place. She delivered the patterns by email very quickly...she also offers a choice to get them sent to you on CD. There is no charge for delivery with a minimum $10.00 order. Here is the link to the Website: http://www.tear-bears.com/index.htm

If you google you might be able to find some- but since you get the patterns for ALL those animals- I think $8 is a fair price. She probably put a lot of work into developing them.

Maybe you could guesstimate by looking at one of the easier pictures? Try something that doesn't have too many parts and see how it goes.

Here are a couple of links to patterns that can be used just to try it out. You can find the directions by doing a google search for tear bear instructions. The pattern below aren't really designed for the tear bear technique, but they will give you an idea of what is involved. You have to have the thick mulberry handmade paper for it to work right. It is lots of fun. If you try it, you will love it.

I have created tear bears thanks to a wonderful lady on www.scrapbook.com . Her screen name is Melanie in MT. You can see the bear and bunny I have done here: bunny: http://www.scrapbook.com/galleries/1...13/-1/0/1.html and bear: http://www.scrapbook.com/galleries/1...53/-1/0/1.html . I based them off of Melanie's directions and templates. You can visit her blog here: http://www.scrapbook.com/myplace/ind...files&u=100587 . Look both in her blog and gallery. Good luck and make sure you post what you've done!

Yes, make sure you get the handmade mulberry paper (thick)... Fun to use chalks, your punches for making eyes, paws, etc... The gal who showed me, just tore as we talked, with no pattern, just circles, ovals, etc... I was so amazed how quickly they went together... Think coloring book shapes...

Have FUN!!
