I am having a SU party on the 13th of Jan. and am making up a wish list. I need a good paper cutter and was wondering if I should order the SU tabletop one or what. I mostly do cards at this time but who knows, I may start scrapbooking someday also If you have this cutter please let me know if you do or do not like it ok?
Can anyone tell me if the SU Table TOp cutter is the same as the Tonic? I thought I read that it is. I say the Tonic today at our local stamp store and of couse they would not answer that question because they want to seel the one they carry. It was 49.95 I think. SU's in 45.95 I think.

Yes....same one! If I were you I'd buy it from JoAnns.com and use a 40% off coupon, OR, even if you can't use a coupon I got mine cheaper from them with free shipping while it was on sale.
Yes, the SU Table Top cutter is the same as the Tonic at stamp stores. I got mine from Joanns.com: http://www.joanns.com/catalog.jhtml;$sessionid$CYLQ4CYAAA54AP4SY5NBHOR50 LD3OEPO?CATID=24967&PRODID=98991&source=search
Actually, if you hurry they have a 50% off coupon today and you can get it very cheap (compared to the SU catalog...save more $$$ for their stamps!!). Joann's coupon code for today is: JANE750

I love the table top cutter! It cuts straight! I never felt like I could get a good, straight cut with my Fiskars and thought it was me. But I was wrong, I bought the SU cutter and feel like my layers are now perfect!

I have the same 12" tonic trimmer and I love it. I mainly use it to cut my 8.5x11 cardstock in half or my 12x12 papers. I used to have the fiskars one that SU also sells and after a while, it just would not cut perfectly straight. For making smaller cuts, I use the little 6" tonic trimmer.
Help! I can't find it:( Am I blind? I found the cutters but not that one. Is it called Tonic? or something else? If Kelly or anyone else can help me please do.I don't want to miss this. I have never ordered from them before and we don't have a Joanns here so I'm not too familiar with their online catty. Thanks girls

Thanks you all for your help. I did get my order in. It came to 33.17 with shipping I thought it might be way way pricey for shipping with the weight but this wasn't bad at all. Now I get to spend more money on other fun stuff from SU!!! Glad I asked me question and got all this cool info. You girls are awesome. Thanks again,
Mary
Just reiterating what others have said, but I love this paper cutter - if you mass produce at all, it's a God-send. It made my Christmas card production process go twice as fast! I only cut 3 sheets of SU CS at once but you can check out if 4-5 would work for you.
Thanks... I think! In direct cause of this website I ordered the Tonic cutter and the scalloped Giga circle punch this morning. It's a good thing I have a lot of friends to send card to!
Thanks for all the info...I've been trying to find this cutter at Joann.com for a while and couldn't because I was searching for Tonic...go figure. Thanks to all you enablers out there my paper cutter search is over!

This cutter is by FAR my favorite as far as size, easy of use, etc. I do have a HUGE Fiskars rotary one that has never let me down either, but it's too cumbersome for everyday use. The ONLY problem with the Tonic/SU! (the 6" Tonic and the SU! one...because they only offer the 6" one) one is that the marks between 6 & 6 are sketchy because there ARE no marks! But I've gotten over this hurdle. There is no "6" marked on the ruler, but it's the end of the ruler before you insert the extension. I've just measured backwards if I've needed that "missing zone" measurement. Clear as mud?
I just have to say, "Thanks alot"! All this talk about the tabletop cutter and now I've gone ahead and bought one. I do have to agree that it is very nice cutting up a bunch of cardstock at once. Nice clean cuts...no feathering!
