Does anyone know if I can use these dies without having to use the curly label die? I don't care about the cutout placement on my cardstock I just need it to cut through my cardstock. Does anyone know? Thanks in advance!
I do not know how, but I know that you CAN do it. I have read a lot on the demo side about this issue, so I know that there is a "sandwich recipe" out here somewhere. Hopefully, if you search, you should be able to find it. Sorry I am not more help.
Thanks to both of you for your replies. I did a search but I can't seem to find it. Oh well, I guess I'll just buy the die and play with "sandwiching" a bit ; ) thanks!!!
Yes, the magnetic dies can be used alone. I've done it many times. Here's the sandwich I use in my Big Kick:
Sizzix Texturz Impression Pad from the Texturz Kit (the hard plate, not the silicone rubber)
Sizzix Cutting Pad
M&S die face up
cardstock to be cut
Sizzix Cutting Pad
Works like a charm! I don't have a problem with the die moving around. I used to put a little double-stick tape down, but I don't anymore (unless it's critical the die cut the paper exactly where I put it). Apparently my cutting pads are scratched up enough that they provide good traction for the die!
One advantage to using the dies alone is that you do not need the Sizzix Extended Cutting Pads. You can use the standard cutting pads.
Thanks to the OP for posting this thread. I have wondered for a while why one couldn't use the movers and shapers dies (there is a new one in the new mini for Sept. 1) without the curly label die. Thank you, Lori, Amber, and Meg, for confirming my notion.
