Default SU! Designer Paper

Designer paper always looks so much prettier in person than in catalogs/on-line for all companies. But I always feel like SU! does an especially poor job of showcasing their paper! At my age, I'm wearing my reading glasses and pulling out a magnifying glass to catch a glimpse.

Luckily I have a demonstrator who has a stamp night once a month so I eventually see many of the packs, but not all. Just wish I could get a better look at each sheet.

Stampin Up has such great quality papers and cardstock. I really enjoy using all the colors and inks to match. Such a great hobby to have for life!

I agree with the original poster.........it's impossible to decide which ones you like with such little pictures and only a partial piece showing. My demo sometimes gives me small pieces of some of the packs and that really helps. She does open houses twice a year so it's limited on what we actually get to see in order to make a decision. If only they'd show at least a half sheet on the website it would really help.

I'm not a big SU buyer, but so far the patterned paper I've purchased has been gorgeous and such high quality. So if I'm on the fence I'm likely to go for it. In fact I just purchased a pack. They even do black and white luciously.

I had emailed SU to say the turquoise/aqua (don't remember which) text in a recent catalogue made it terribly difficult for me to read, and talked to someone about it too. She agreed, and coincidentally (probably) or not (due to other complaints?) the text in this catalog is black. So they do (maybe) listen sometimes.

They want to sell as much product as possible, so if larger samples of paper are what you want in the catalogue, maybe let them know? I think the on-line photos and videos help a lot too.

Didn't even think to check YouTube to see if anyone had videos of the papers........thanks for the suggestion Beth.

Sure - though I deserve no credit since I was actually thinking about SU's website. Sometimes there are videos on product pages.

For instance, I just purchased and received today Sweet Soiree paper* A video is on that page showing someone flipping through every sheet of paper in many packs, including Sweet Soiree. I just fast forwarded a bit to find it, and enlarged the video screen (on an iPad finger pinching out) to see them better.

Photos of the sheets and sometimes card samples are on the page too.

And I just noticed it's on their youtube channel, so going there and doing a search could work too.

Example: Sweet Soirée Specialty Designer Series Paper by Stampin' Up!

*Yum!

I'm mostly SU and I only have SU dsp. I agree! I don't even bother looking at the dsp in the catty. I Wait till it's showcased at one of the stamp classes I go to
( yep, I have three different demo's events I attend-tho not each one every month).

That said, I don't buy much anymore as I have enough to last a lifetime! Most recent pack was the Halloween pack and the fall pack with the beautiful sunflowers.,
