Default SU black pad

Did SU ever resolve the issue with the black not drying?

I've been using my Stazon but would like to use my classic pad and reinkers!!!!

Have not heard that this issue has been fixed. I use only memento black for my basic black and also Stazon when appropriate. My SU black was not only dry, but had a purple like tint to it.

I thought the purple hue was taken care of quite some time ago. But I have not heard of the black pads drying out.

There is still a problem with them smearing badly on Whisper White and Very Vanilla I believe. Most demos use Memento for most applications and Stazon for non-porous or water color.

No, what I meant by drying is that when you used it, the ink wouldn't dry on paper--- it took a LONG time to dry..... It smeared every time I used it.

Sorry I misunderstood. I used SU black ink way back when I first started to stamp. I just know of the purple hue problem back then. When I used the ink I did not have a problem with it not drying on paper.

This must be a "New" problem. I stopped using SU ink back in about 2008. I have not seen any threads on SCS about your particular problem, sorry.

Sorry- I misunderstood also. My SU black that I bought when they changed to the new pads came dry with the purple hue. Some of the other colors in the new pad type have seemed "juicy" and do take some time to dry.

After talking to my SU demo, I've decided to get rid of my SU black pad and reinkers and just stay with Stazon....

Using Memento black here too. I just love it. It stays so nice and juicy. I've never re-inked it.

I, too have given up on the SU black ink (although I like all their other colors). I only use India Ink. It is my Memories. It is archival & fade resistant and I can watercolor with it.

Give memento Black a try, it does not smell or stain like stazon ink does.
