I have been slightly obsessed with the SU! Dahlias in the new catty. Today I got an Oriental Trading scrapping/beading catalog, and was a bit stunned when I saw what appears to be the same flowers, in the same colors.
Note- not counting tax and shipping, the SU! ones are actually cheaper.
Is it just me or do these look an awful lot like the SU! ones?
Sorry for the poor pic, I snapped it with my phone. They have the same petals exactly as in my cattie!!!

Stamp designs often come from artwork in the public domain, so I imagine the same applies to all sorts of other items. Although I'm sure SU has some exclusive artists that only design for them, they probably get artwork from a variety of artists, and those artists are not always exclusive to one company. Same goes for embellishments and other items.
These seem to be very popular lately. If you google "flower cabochons", you will find a lot of sources for them, particularly on ebay and the like. Lots of other color choices, too.

I read once that SU only makes stamps and everything else is made from other companies. Their color line is unique but contracted out through other companies. For example I read Tsukinecko makes their ink. EK Success makes their punches, score board & new trimmer. I am a nerd who reads too much.
A lot of SU! embelllishments and accessories "co-ordinate" with their colours and are not necessarily a match. They may have got the embellishments from the company that made the ones in your picture because they happen to co-ordinate with their line. That would be my guess anyway....
I know where you can get those dahlias really cheap. Ebay! You can buy thirty of them in different colors for under $5. I order a lot of Cabachons off of Ebay. I posted the other night on this thread. I had a migraine. My eyes didn't really focus and think those were the resin cabachons. I was thinking paper. I know, goofy!
