Default Spritzer tool

Hey out there,

Anyone have an idea how to get a Spritzer tool (like SU one) without having to buy from an SU demo. I am not near one and find the shipping costs too high for my pension.

If anyone has a good homemade version, let's here that, too!

Happy stamping!

Btt- also curious about this question. Almost if not everything SU puts out is made by another company and just relabeled and re-marketed by SU- So I would guess you can buy the exact same thing by another company but with that said I have no idea who truly makes this tool. Hope someone does and will tell us.

Yeah. The markers might not be so great, couldn't get the black one to work, but the other colors work fine. Interesting look...

I checked out the reviews on HSN, and it didn't do too well. Most people said that, if you can get it to work at all, only the markers that come with it work. They also said that Copic markers and Sharpies didn't work in it, even though the demonstrator showed them (at least the Sharpies) working on the show. I think I'll wait.

Just a suggestion here (please don't flame me!)....you don't have to HAVE a demo to order. You can order through the stampin up webiste (you can just pick a demo at random...you'd make her day, haha). If you pick a demo they call it preferred pricing or something and you pay a little less (the catalog price, I think) than if you don't pick one.

Anyway, just a suggestion...doesn't help with your shipping issue though. Although I will say I think SU's shipping is pretty reasonable compared to some other things I've bought (or NOT bought because of the shipping) lately. I mean, SU stuff can be pretty heavy and I've paid MUCH more recently for a freaking bathing suit from Victoria's Secret!!!! Like over $10 And just last night I wanted to buy some Turbokick clothes (I teach at my Y) and the shipping was over $10 for a freaking t shirt and pair of shorts....I didn't order!

I know it's not apples to apples, more like stamps to clothes but still, not all that bad!

Good luck with whatever you choose. The spritzer is one of those things that I want but never seem to get!

Check out the kids section in your local department store with the arts and crafts kits. I am not sure if it was made by Crayola or not but it had the spritzer and some markers to go with it.

There's a kids' version called the Stylus Studio Spray Art Airbrush Pen. It has markers that are sold separately, but I think you could use about any marker.

Thanks for the input, friends. Special thanks to Mrs. Noofy - a fellow Ontarian. I'll look for the children's tool.

Palval77: Appreciate your offer and would love to take advantage of it. I just can't resist having all the toys. :O) So, even if I get the kid's version, I'd like to have the right thing.

Let me know, Palval77, how you want to receive payment for this. OK?

I just seen one on ebay this morning for $7.99 free shipping.. that is a good deal if you are still looking for one.

search: Stampin' Up COLOR SPRITZER TOOL

I would include a link, but I don't think we are allowed.. those words right now bring up the one I mentioned.

hope that helps.

You can get the same affect without the mess by using the SU Itty Bitty Backgrounds stamp set on page 132 of the catalog. I bought that set about 15 years ago, and it's the most useful set I've ever had.

Thanks for the info. I am going to buy (I hope) the spritzer from the person above your message. However, that said, your idea is a good one, too. I have many background stamps and use them but I want to do some of the techniques which use the spritzer tool.

I even bought a kids Crayola set which uses a 'blow' pen arrangement. Only thing is, I have asthma and don't quite have the 'wind' to make a great effect. I thought of taping a small, empty bottle to the end ... kind of a makeshift spritzer. But, if I can get the real one, that'd be better.

Anyway, thanks again for responding and giving me some advice. Always welcome.

You might want to try sending a private message to Valerie as she might not be following this thread. (just a suggestion!)

Smile Got the Spritzer

Just to let everyone know that I got a Spritzer from Tina (Meluvstampin) and it works great! She even included a sweet goodie bag of ribbon and bubble stickers. What a gal!

Thanks, Tina. You're a prime example of the wonderful group of people we have on this blog. Let's all give a happy-happy, clap-clap to Tina!!!
