Default spirellabilities - is my wallet in trouble again?

I am thinking of ordering more nestabilities. As I poked around the cutathome site, I saw spirellabilities. They looked interesting. I did a search but have not found any examples. Has any one used them? Any information on this product would be appreciated.

There is one card in my gallery that uses spirelli; you can see it here

I currently have one set (two punches in staggered sizes) of spirelli punches. I will be buying some spirellabilities after I get all the nesties I want. I only have the one set of punches and I got them on sale but they still cost more than two or three sets of spirellabilities. I am really looking forward to having a few more shapes.

This is a fun craft and I think they make a nice addition to a card. I am also envisioning it being a portable craft for sitting in doctors' waiting rooms etc, since I can pre-cut the shapes then wind them anywhere.

HTH

ETA: I got mine at HSN. They don't have the ones I got anymore, but they do have a really nice starter kit- 2 punches, some paper, and a lot of metallic threads, plus an instruction book- for $30. This is, to me, a very good price for what you get.

Default Dandee Images

Hi Dorothy...

Dandee Images has a whole page of items for creating Spirelli String Art.
There are books and templates and punches. For a smaller initial outlay, you can buy a few die cut pieces and some thread so you can try the technique before spending a lot.

Default Spiralbilities

I will be watching this thread for more cards using these. Way back when I first started crafting, age 7 I think, I loved string art and these new designs are lovely. can you use these in the cuttlebug? I may have to try a set of these.

Here are a couple projects that I used Spirelli on. The square card, I actually used a Scallop Circle Nestabilities Die. And the card with the trees on it has the Triangle Spirellabities.

Both were very fun and easy to make. Nice thing about Spirelli, there really isn't a wrong way to string the thread.

Have fun.

I've been using my scallop punches and sewing thread I found in my sewing basket (some thread even from high school -- you should see the prices on the spools-- so cheap). I found this is one great technique I can learn and use without spending any extra money. Thank goodness!
