It has a bit of a limited use but I love the Seashell one.

I used mine with some embossing paste (texture paint) and I LOVE the look of it.

Here's a card I did with the seashell template (scroll down a bit): http://tennisgirl27.blogspot.com/201...-more-new.html

I use the Big Shot. I'm thinking maybe I need the Impressions pad? I'm not sure.

The sandwich I use for embossing in my Big Shot is:

Multi Purpose Platform - all tabs closed
impressabilities
cardstock
2 Tan Embossing Mats - from Spellbinders
1 piece of 6 x12" cardstock folded in thirds
Acrylic Mat

I get a good result with this sandwich. I don't have an Impressions pad. I really don't use my Big Shot much anymore because I have a Wizard. You can't beat the Wizard for embossing!

Hope this helps!

I saw a great demo at the Springfield show - before putting through the machine - swipe the impression plate with a few colors of a pigment ink - talk about gorgeous! Also you have to pass it through a few times to get a good impression!!

Thanks Debbie! I will try that... I really don't have the money to buy every little thing out there, so I like to "make-do."

My 2 favorites are "Fleur de Lis" ( 12-1014)and Flourish (12-1009) . Both work great as embossing and with the Letterpress technique. I use my Wizard . The strong pressure helps make the embossing deeper.

So glad to stumble on this thread. I only have one - the cherries. But I don't know what sandwich to make (for fear of breaking machine). I have a Sissix Big Shot.

This is the same sandwich that I use n my cuttlebug - but I run it back and forth at least a total of 2 (to total 4 passes) times to get a great impression!

Another tip to get a deeper emboss is to "lightly" spritz both sides of your paper with water...if you only spritz one side the paper tends to curl.

I love my cherry impressabilities, I made a really cute project a month ago, here is alink with a pdf download. It's a little triangle goodie box, I got the inspiration for it from Latisha Yoast.

I've tried using them with my Big Shot but the impression is not very deep. Also I don't have the tan embossing mats. Do you think two silicone pads would work?

I think the silicone pads would work. That is what the tan mats are made of.

Do you mean the rubber silicone mats that are made to work with the Sizzix Texturz plates? If so, yes those would work. I don't have any of the Impressabilities yet but I've been told you can use the same sandwich as the Sizzix Texturz plates which is (from bottom to top)

MPP Tab 1
Texture plate with the design face up
Cardstock or paper face down
Silicone mat
Impressions pad (often comes with the silicone mat)

Run through Big Kick/Shot

Now depending on how thick these Impressabilities are you may need to shim it a little bit with a thin slip of paper or a thin piece of cardstock. I usually do my shims in between the silicone mat and the impressions pad. My Sizzix plates don't need to be shimmed, whereas my Fiskars plates do.

If the sandwich is too thick to fit through, switch to no tabs instead of tab 1.

I think this is called hi-jacking, but just had to add my two cents. I don't have the Big Shot, but have found when embossing the Nestabilities in my Cuttlebug that I get a better impression using the red rubber gasket from the plumbing dept (Lowes or Home Depot) than I get with the Spellbinders brown mat(s). They are a little thicker than the brown and a little stiffer, come in 6"x6" and are comparitively inexpensive. Hope this helps someone. Sorry for the hi-jack!
