I've seen it demonstrated and it is rather neat BUT unlike the nestablilities or other Spellbinder dies, there is only one small size dies with the Presto.

Well it is a very neat machine and I can't wait to get my hands on my own.

Right now Spellbinders is waiting for UL approval and as soon as that comes thru, it will be available to purchase! I will be the first in line!

I had the pleasure of playing with it at CHA! It is a fun little machine and will take up so much less space than all those punches!!! I can't wait to get my hands on one of my own. There is actually a video that Terri O did with it using some of my projects, if you are interested in seeing it in action. http://www.terriocraftprojects.com/d...e1.php?aid=201 Enjoy!

It seems kinda a hassle vs punches. Make the sandwich, put it in, press the button for a long time while it whirrs, press the other button for a while, take it out, try to peel the paper out of the die...
Just saying, from watching the video!

I also forgot to mention that they emboss as well. You can't get that with punches. If someone lacks hand strength with arthritis or something similar, this would be a good choice for them as well. Also it was mentioned that the punch templates come in one size. They come in graduated sizes similar to the nestabilities!!! Add that to the easy storing of them all and it is a win win situation!

If you already have a Big Shot or a Cuttlebug, why would you invest in the Presto Punch?

Hi Lois
The Presto Punch dies cannot go into a Big Shot, Cuttlebug or Wizard (or any other die cutting machine). It really is a cool machine.

Why are the dies not able to be used in the other machines? They look just like the Spellbinders dies -- in fact, the die that Terri O used in that video looks just like a Label One die.

The blades are so sharp that they would go into your plates forcing you to try and pry them out and destroying the die in the process.

Here is Spellbinders official response to that question.

"The Punch templates are manufactured differently than our standard dies. The cut edges on the punch templates are different and could cause them cut (and stick) into the plates of a manual die cut machine, damaging the mats and potentially dulling the cut edge of the punch template. We do not recommend that the Punch Templates be used with any manual die cutting machine."

I think I would be interested in this if i could utilize the 1 or 2 smaller nesties in my sets (they are pretty usless to me as it is)...but not interested in buying a machine as well as new die cuts.

Anyone know if you can use the existing smaller sized nesties ?

IT might be good if you dont have another die cutter but it seems a bit limiting in what you can do with it. The other die cutters, BS, Cuttlebug will take dies from all different companies and you are so limited with the Presto punch. I am sure it has its value somewhere for some but I have a BS and a CB and this is not another tool I need.
blessings.

It's meant to compete with "punches" and the amount of space having various punches can take up. We all know how much one punch costs and how much space they take up- Ideally, this is allowing you the option of owning many many different punches with out having them take over your craft space. Punches are generally card sized as are the Presto Punch Templates.
