So Over the new SU Punch style, are you?
Good Golly, I'm so over SU's new punch style. Are you too? I'm using the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer punch for just the second time and the thing cuts the paper leaving ragged edges AND it won't close. I know, push the button all the way to the right side, push down and close and lock. Right, the button won't move. These punches are too clumsy, bulky, and take up too much room. Won't be getting any more of these for sure....

I haven't used them yet, but if yours is new and not working, you should talk to your demo about getting a replacement one! I don't know if you can return it or not.

The triple layer punches do have a bad reputation so I know you can return them. The other new ones like the borders, owl and bird all work great for me. I actually like this style because it is easier for me to grab hold of when I turn it upside down to punch and squeeze.
Sorry you're disappointed. I know how frustrating that can be. (I just wrote about my Purple Cow Trimmer on another thread).
Hope you can get a new one soon or a credit for other products.

I'm not bothering with those triple layer ones. I prefer the old style too, or maybe they are just what I'm more used to. Wonder what the next generation of punch style will be?

I've watched too many demos (from all products, not just Stampin Up) have trouble using/demoing punches, so I am not a buyer. If it can't punch a clean image without raggy edges, it isn't worth it (and, I have a bin of punches I was fooled by that I could sell you---cheap!) ha!

I tried one at my demos and I will not be buying the triple punches. I do love their flat single punches though!!

I must be lucky. Both mine work fine. I have only used them with SU cardstock and paper. Maybe the people having problems are using something heavier? Well I guess the demos probably aren't. I am very heavy handed with everything. Maybe it is a matter of punching hard enough, quickly?

I don't know, but my hands aren't very strong. But my demo seemed to have some trouble too. I think the more intricate the design, the harder they are to punch. I've found that with Martha Stewart punches too.

I actually love the style- I have found the key to punching is in where you hold the punch. put it down and press with the heel of your hand over the picture area of the punch. I hope I am describing this right. I am not a demo just one very happy customer with the flat style punches.

Yes, I love the flat style, just not those triple punches. The flat ones I use upside down most of the time, but the triple punches punch very hard.

I like the new style punches. Do not have the triple ones yet, though. But, I did find out not to hold it against my stomach as I pinched my stomach when I squeezed the punch! Won't do that again! ha!!

I once read on here that someone pinched something else on their body doing that!! Can't remember the thread title but it had to do with making mistakes or goof ups or something silly like that.

I have pinched the skin between my thumb and pointer finger before (more than once). I know my way around a punch and they still get me! Honestly, if it wasn't for the space saving advantage, I would go back to the other punch style. These just don't punch as clean as the old ones did. I had ones not punching clean the first week I used them! I shouldn't have to sharpen them right out of the box!
I have found that the new style punches don't deal with thinner paper very well. They punch fine with SU cardstock but they are TERRIBLE with thinner weight designer paper.

The Triple Layer punches need to be punched with a lot of pressure as they have a lot of work to do. It is recommended that you punch standing up and apply the needed pressure.
