you can cut your own drawings with the cricut if you purchase Sure Cuts A Lot or Make the Cut software. It will cut Papertrey CS, just make sure your pressure and cutter foot settings are maxed. May need to cut 2 or 3 times....

I have SCAL and I'm not getting good, clean cuts. My cricut cuts through the thickest cardstock in one pass with no problems. I want a more professional cut. Does that make sense? LOL
SCAL is rounding some things that shouldn't be rounded and it doesn't seem to like circles or arcs very well as those tend to lean instead of being straight up and down--on the screen it looks perfect though. I've contacted the SCAL people and have reset my machine, etc. but still not getting a good enough cut.

I've read about this on a few different forums. I have a CraftRobo (wishblade, sillouette, craftrobo - all same machine by graphtec) and use the Robomaster software for all my designs. I haven't cut PTI paper, but have cut SU paper and haven't had any problems. From what I read about the problem with SCAL not cutting curves properly is the interpolation routine the software uses to cut arcs. The software for the Graphtec machines uses a much better logarithm routine so that you get more fluid cuts since the software was developed for professional use.
I'm wishing I bought a Silhouette instead of the Cricut since I like drawing my own designs, but...
Does it cut Papertrey Ink cardstock cleanly? 98% of my cardstock is Papertrey Ink.
Hi Leigh Ann! If you buy a new SD version it will cut PTI paper. I've heard that the older version doesn't. I too own mostly PTI Cardstock. I have never had a problem cutting my PTI CS. And I LOVE my Silhouette!! If you have any questions, just let me know. I'd love to enable. ;)

Hi, Susan! Just found your message. Will you please tell me what settings you're using to cut PTI paper on your SD? Thanks so much!

Thanks! Are you having to make 2 passes or is it cutting through in one?

Thank you for the information! I knew it wasn't just me being picky! LOL
