Hands down, my favorite sentiments are from Verve. Here are my favorite sets:

Thankful Hearts
Wishing You
Starstruck
Great Expectations
Happy Thoughts

Probably the most versatile ones are Wishing You and Happy Thoughts. Good luck in your search!

You should check out this set, I personally really like it... It is made by Hot off the Press , the website is www.paperwishes.com but you can also find it at Joann's online.
The Stamp set is named
Mix Your Messages Acrylic Set
This stamp set features 65 stamps, with mix-able words you can combine to form your own message.
I have found that it colors all basic messages and then some..
It retails for 17.99 but at Joann's you can wait for a sale or use a coupon.

Make whatever sentiments you want with your computer and fonts, and print on cardstock or vellum and attach to your cards. Cheap! Lots of options!

Don't forget to check out a Michael's store - mine has recently gotten tons of clear stamp sets in, and some of them are sentiment sets. If you use a coupon on them and get them one at a time, you can save some money that way too.

Just to be totally clear (no pun intended), the stamps are cling-mounted red rubber. To be used on acrylic mounting blocks. Clear mount, not clear stamps.

I am a new stamper, within the last year. So I have been trying to collect the basics too. Now I have a ton of them - but the ones I keep returning to over and over again, are the PTI Mega and Mini Mega Mixed Messages. I especially like the mini ones, first - they are cheaper, second, they fix so nicely in the windows word punch by SU and on all the other tag punches from SU. The sentiments are small and don't take prominance on the card front, which I also like!

I do have alot of sentiment stamps but still use my computer and print on cardstock, it works out great. I often use punches rather than cut them out by hand.

I did this and changed the font on the word I wanted to emphasize and I was pleased with the results.

I have two favorite sets:
Sentiments II from Impression Obsession
Sentiments from Purple Onion Designs

But, I am getting one from Paper Trey for Chanukah! Maybe tonight! *grin*

I have had trouble printing out sentiments on card stock and having it look professional. Either the card stock is thick and doesn't print nice. Or I want to have that embossed look, and I don't know if that is possible with the printer. I tried once, but the powder did not stick. I had read somewhere that you could emboss, but it didn't work for me. I would love suggestions on how to print sentiments via computer and have them look professional and high quality.
