Default Sandwich for MFT Die-namics Die Rectangles

I am taking an online course at Online Card Courses and in one of the projects two of The My Favorite Things Die-Namic Die Rectangles (the largest ones of STAX #1) are used to make an embossed window in the front of the card. I'd like to get these dies so that I can do this but want to know if I need to have the 5 X 7 Spellbinders tan mat to use with these dies, or can I use my Papertrey mat (or mats)? If so, what would the sandwich be?

I'm hoping there is someone out there who is familiar with these dies and mats and can tell me. The PTI mats are not as big as 5 X 7 and one is bigger and thinner than the other.

I bought them to use with the PTI impression plates and truth be told have not been in love with them. They seem to slide out of place as I put them through my Big Shot.

Any input would be appreciated.
I have come to the conclusion that buying craft supplies and actually using them are two separate hobbies.

I answered your other thread I think, but here is the info again.

Hi there. I have the mats from MFT: Die-namics Embossing Pad Combo , but I am thinking they are probably the same as the PTI mats. You can take a look at the link above and see if they are the same.

I use the thinnest mat that comes in the set and I don't alter my stack at all. I use the platform all the way closed, the 2 clear cutting pads, and the thin embossing mat in between with the paper and Die-namics. The thickest pad won't fit in that stack, so you'd have to probably open one of the tabs on the base platform, but again, I don't use the thicker one, personally.

I hope that helps.

I'm a designer from MFT and I love MFT Die-namics (all of them).
