Default Recycled items on cards??

I am seeing lots of cool items being recycled to use on cards, such as soda pop tabs for buckles and paper bags. What items do you recycle and use?? Any pictures??

twist-off pop/beer caps can be used like little frames, and tags from some of my girls' clothing are pretty cool - you can use them as is, or adhere stuff to them

The foil on this card is from reagent pull tops from work-a hospital lab

I am using snippets from last year's Christmas cards (that I received) to make this year's cards that I'm sending out.

Oh, gosh, anything is fair game, lol! Um, foil candy wrappers; latte cup sleeves; envelope liners; blister packs; label sheets after all the labels have been punched out; the list is endless.

I've recycled onion or bulb netting bags for fish cards to simulate netting.

I recycle cereal boxes and cake boxes! They make great chipboard cut outs. They are the perfect weight to cut out shapes with my Spellbinders dies. If I want something to "pop" up a little more I cut 2 or 3 and stack them on top of each other, then cover with paper die cut to match my card.

I also like to cut out pop cans as monograms with my dies. I have the option of using the colored side or the silver side. Alcohol ink work great on the silver side to make my own custom colors.

I love to use packaging that I get. For instance, the striped circular piece HERE is from the packaging that was with a My Favorite Things stamp set. I just thought that the pink stripes were so cute that I couldn't bare to throw it away. I have also used the nylon netting that new potatoes come in as elements. It's a challenge to see creative possibilities in everything you touch...lol

I love using 'found' objects on cards!
Here are some of mine:

This one uses a picture form a magazine:

I used beads form a broken eyeglass leash on this:

This uses a wine cork that I cut into slices:

This one uses a broken piece of wicker from my laundry basket:

I'll send you a PM in case you don't see this, but I just use a very sharp kitchen knife. Someone else suggested using a Widget. It's a razor blade holder for scraping paint off windows. That might work even better.

I use the leftover rubber after I cut and mount my stamps as dimensionals. All you have to do is peel the rubber off and the gray part underneath it is sticky. I also use ribbons and fibers from just about any packaging...

I have clipped the posts from thumbtacks to make a row of "dots".
