Rave for Copic Vendor!
I just have to post because I am so impressed by Oozak.com. I ordered 19 Copic markers today (17 Ciao and 2 Sketch) for $52. The Ciaos were $2.63 and the Sketchs were $3.90. Not only is that the best price I have seen anywhere, but I got free shipping for spending over $50. And...their customer service is great! I didn't get an order confirmation immediately after submitting my order online, so I called the customer service number to make sure it went through. I talked to Steve, who was very friendly and let me know that he got my order and would send me a receipt shortly. I also just got confirmation that it has already been shipped via USPS priority mail. I am just really excited and impressed by this company and wanted to let you all know about it! Today was my first time ordering from them. I do have to say that their selection is somewhat (maybe a lot) limited as many items were out of stock, but as I am just beginning to get into Copics, it wasn't as big a deal as there really weren't any specific colors I wanted. I was able to get a good assortment of different colors and color families though. Hope this helps someone!

Hi Dawn...I actually just posted this question yesterday! Here is the link:
(Ok...it wouldn't let me post the link. But it is in the products forum and it's called Copic Sketch vs. Ciao or something very similar...)
From what I have gathered, Ciaos are smaller, therefore may not last as long. They are round, so they may roll off the table, there are fewer colors, and they are not compatible with Copic's airbrush system.
I wasn't very concerned about any of those things...I don't plan on spending another ~$200 for the airbrush system...and if there is a color I want that isn't available in the Ciaos, I will just buy the sketch. As far as I know, the ink is the same and they will blend together just fine.
But....I am very new to this and don't actually have any of the Ciaos yet, so I could be wrong!

Just popped in and saw this thread... I bought Ciaos a couple weeks ago and had a few sketch already... When I started to try to use the Ciaos I was not impressed with the brush end of the pen... it's just a little less flexible that the sketch so you have less control when getting into tiny spaces. This is fairly important since the other end is not a tiny marker like the SU! markers... just what I noticed. I paid 4.20 for the Ciaos and the Sketch run 5.99 at Hobby Lobby regular price, but I took the Ciaos back and bought for just over 4.oo at HL on sale last week.
It's a big decision. If you have local store that carries both, try buying one of each and see if you like one over the other. For me, having the sketch first, I was not impressed with the Ciaos.

i find this a little odd since everything i have read about sketch vs. ciao say the brush tip is the exact same thing. they only sell one kind of replaceable super brush tip and it can be used in either the sketch or ciao. i doubt they manufacture two different super brushes.

Yep, love oozak! I just can't wait until they got restocked, as they don't have the specific ones I'm looking for right now! And I refuse to pay the exorbitant shipping at carpediemstore.com (12.95) for just a couple markers.

I think that for all but a very few, there isn't much difference. A lot of folks are very comfortable with the Ciaos because they have the same shape as markers they're used to. The brush tips are the same as the Sketch and both are replaceable and refillable. There is a way to retro-fit the Ciaos into the airbrush system I understand. Again, I'm not sure how many people would really get into that aspect of it, kwim?
I, too, would suggest getting just a few markers to start with. Try to avoid the urge to splurge, lol!

On their website they kind of have a list of when they are expecting shipments or what has been restocked when. It's on the right hand side of the home page.

I also had a great experience with Oozak.com. They mailed my order out within an HOUR of my placing it, and I had it 2 days later. I couldn't believe it! And that was with the free shipping too. A+ in my book, and worth the wait for them to get more colors in stock.

Does anyone know if they ship to Canada? When I went to their shipping page there is no info for International shipping.
I was having problems with the cart to see what the shipping rates are.
If they do ship here, Santa's getting a link to their web page LOL!

I ordered Ciao, set36B from OOZAK this morning and within 2 hours got a confirmation that they have been shipped. A few weeks ago I ordered Ciao, set 36A from another company. Cost me $119.99 for those and took over a week to get them. OOZAK is A++ in both price & service!
I do have a question about what ink pads do you girls use? I tried staz on black & Versafine and they both bleed. What would work & where would I get the pads? Thanks

Don't use StazOn! It just won't work with the alcohol inks. Try Adirondack, Heat-set Brilliance, or my personal favorite, Memento. You can download a really useful " Stamping with Copic brochure" for more help.

I already posted on this thread, but I just have to give yet another thumbs up to Steve and oozak! I got an order this week, but the package was badly damaged, missing markers, lids missing or mixed up, etc. I called and he had everything fixed and on it's way to me the next day! I HIGHLY recommend them, I don't buy copics anywhere else now. I don't mind waiting for restocking, because my stamping account has to catch up, lol!

Here is your answer about what the letters and number mean. This was copied off of the blog: http://ilikemarkers.blogspot.com
This is the best blog I have seen to answer any questions about Copic markers, check it out!
Color Family- The letter at the beginning of your color name (B, BV, V, RV, R, YR, Y, YG, G, E (earth), F (Florescent), Grays & Blacks: C (Cool Gray), N (Neutral Gray), T (Toner Gray), W (Warm Gray) 100 Black, 110 Special Black
Color Saturation- This is the first digit on a color name. Colors that are 00's, 10's, or 20's will be more vibrant (B05, G16, R29), while colors that are in the 70's, 80's or 90's have more gray added (B95, BG78, G94) and are closer to the neutral/earthy end of the color spectrum. Note: E (Earth) markers don't necessarily follow this rule.
Color Group- A sequential group of colors within one color family with the same first digit (i.e. E30, E31, E33, E34, E35, E37, E39) where numbers ending in 0 are the lightest and 9 is the darkest, also called Natural Blending Group

Coincidentally I just placed my first order this morning. They had the best price I have found for the #1 airbrush kit ($4 so I added an additional sketch marker with it to make it over $50 for the free shipping. I litterally got an email a half an hour later saying that my order had already SHIPPED...now that is customer service!

Hello: I'm Canadian and I found that Oozak.com have an Ebay site. If you go to Ebay, search for the seller name oozakonline to see the items listed.
If you click on an item to place a bid, scroll down the page and you can see where you can find their international shipping calculator. Click on the calculator and fill in the info - your postal code, town and province, and click on blue "Calculate my shipping rate" tab. This will take you to a page with the "fine print" about shipping internationally. If you click again, you will finally get the rates.
I live on the east coast of Canada. To use buy-it-now for one of their wallet sets with 12 Ciao markers for $35.55 and have it shipped to me, it would be $25.04 by UPS International Express. The brokerage fee charged by UPS is included in this amount, but not duty, of course. So the shipping fee is almost as much as the markers!!!!!
That would work out to over $5.00 per marker.

Strangely the site http://www.periodstyle.com/
who carries Copics and decent prices is literally 5 miles from my house. Unfortunately it is a distribution center not a retailer, I would love to just WALK IN and get my Copics without paying shipping.
I guess I will stick with www.oozak.com
