Punches...which ones are your favorites/must haves?
So I did a history search on this topic and found one from 2004 and they didn't even have the tag punches then, so It is time for a new survery...
I am thinking it is time to buy myself some punches. I have the circle punch for riveting, so now I am wondering what should be my next purchase. So my question is...what punches do you use the most? What punches can you not live without...?

Southwest (?) corner punch - the one that makes a tiny notch on either side of the corner.

I love all the punches but I especially like the ovals, both are needed, word window, and tag, again both, ticket corner, spring bouquet. Do you see where this is leading? I thought I wouldn't need the round tab punch but I was sadly mistaken.

Word window, designer label, scalloped oval, and I cannot live without a few basic circle punches in different sizes. I am finding Cuttlebug dies to be much cheaper than punches and I can avoid the nasty "stuck punch" issue. Their ovals die is wonderful.

Large circle, next smaller circle, 1/4" circle (use with 1/8" hand punch for faux eyelet of any color), word window, tag, ticket corner, daisy & 3 flowers, southwest corner (to thread cord through), wrought iron corner slot, snowflake. Thats in rough order, but the circles, word, tag are really tied.

It depends on what you like to make?
If you like making gifts then the tag punch is soooo wonderful, quick and easy and it says "made it myself" without a card. Oh yea, that will mean that you need the small tag punch so you have layers for your tags.
If you make cards, I'm crazy about the ticket punch (dresses up a corner) and word window (very versatile, can be a tab or a hole or a word)
Since you have the circle punch for riveting, you NEED the larger circle punch so you can layer your riveting on a background.
I just got the two oval punches and haven't had alot of time to play, but they are WAY cool!
I love my slot punch too. It also doubles as a scalloped edge maker.
Ahhh, so many punches, so little time.
Did that help? Probably not.
They are all awesome.

My new favorite is the ticket corner punch. After punching the corners of the layer, add eyelets, brads, or bling in the little space..I find it difficult to NOT do this. All my cards are starting to look alike!
I also love the scalloped punches-ovals and circles!

punches
I bought a punch that I have used a lot and haven't seen it mentioned here. It's a Paper Shapers giant photo corner punch. I love it - it's so versatile. I took a class at the Enchanted Cottage and the eacher showed me how to use it to make different sizes. I have lots of others that I like, but that would be my new fave.

Word window punch
Round tab punch
all circle punches
all square punches
all oval punches
both tag punches.....
Oh gosh, I own every punch in the Stampin' Up! IB&C and this year's mini catalogs except for the paper piecing punch (which I will get). And I own several other punches from different sources...so I am probably the wrong person to recommend any punch. I just say get them all! (Hi, my name is Sharlene, and I am a punchaholic!)

1) Square punches - the bigger the better (wish SU made a 2" and 2 1/2" one)
2) Circle punches - be sure to get lots of sizes
Both these shapes are classic and won't be going out of style soon. Also, you can use them for your photos if you scrapbook.
3) Tag Corner punch (you can make any size of tag with this one)
4) Horizontal Slit - great adding ribbon to tags, cards, etc.
HTH.

The two ovals have become my favorites lately. Word window is next, then the two tags. But the four sizes of the circles never leave my table. LOVE LOVE LOVE punches! I truly believe that a mediocre crafter can achieve great results with the right tools!

Well, my new favorite is the buckle card, as seen
I usually use it cut off on the side of a card as seen here.
I actually couldn't find one where it is punched to show a word through from the inside of the card, but I think that was it's original intent.

I really like the word window punch. I haven't seen this mentioned yet but you can make spinner cards with it. Way too much fun. I also like any circle and square punches they make fast embelishments for cards. What can I say punches are a staple of my stamping supplies.
