how do you hold tiny diecuts in place for stamping? i have the tim holtz platform & there's nothing to hold the paper in place other than the magnets. how do i stamp little leaves, for example? i cant imagine it would work to stamp first & then cut out the images but i could be wrong. thanks!
I die cut, place the entire piece, positive and negative die cut paper in the positioner and then I can line up my stamp.
It's hard to explain but here's one of my videos that shows how: https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=b3AMIawhBN0
Amuse Studio doesn't have open dies so I use this technique for dies like that or small dies.
Hope that helps.
Why would it not work to stamp and then die cut? Especially if you have a magnetic platform for whatever you're die cutting with, like the Big Shot. I stamp then die cut all the time, even without pulling out the magnetic platform. Of course, I might have to use the flat plates, rather than my warped ones (time to bake those flat again!).

Ditto. Positive die cut back into negative space.
(Link brings me to a page that says no videos available though.)
I do the same as Heather. I think her YouTube link goes to her own videos though (if I click on it I see the handful of videos I have uploaded there so I suspect she's somehow got a "link to my videos" thing going on there that's literally "my videos" whoever you are!).
It's a really useful technique for doing multiples as well - set up the negative in your platform with the stamp positioned as you want it then you can just slot a new die cut into the "hole", stamp and keep repeating as many times as you want. I found it really helpful for doing Christmas tags one year!
Thats exactly what worked beautifully when making stamped die cuts for a little Grumplings monthly calendar for my m-i-l. I cant imagine any other way working so simply for so many little stamps/dies. Nice video. I may have learned about it on a Jennifer McGuire video?
I use the method described in Pooler's video (the same as on the IO sheet of instructions and the SCS tutorial). Once I have made a negative piece for a die, I keep it with the die and it can be used every time to die cut that image after I've stamped it.

I never heard of this before. Is there a link I can get instructions? Warped plates drive me nuts:-x:-x
