Coloring Sizzix cutout flowers
I really like the flower die cuts but I am unsure of how to add color so they look more realistic. Do you use chalks or watercolors and how do you know how to shade them? Thank you for your suggestions.

soliva.....You can stamp on the die cuts with a color ink, color the edges with ink, chalk or water color. You can even run the die cuts through with an embossing folder to give them texture.

I like to layer several of them on top of one another in different shades of the same color or even complimentary colors. Perhaps adding foam dots between the layers to give it dimension. Gently bend the edges to also give the petals dimension.

I'm not sure you're looking for a realistic flower, but just to use the die cuts as texture and depth to your project instead. You are not going to achieve the same look as if you were to stamp and color the entire flower in with pencil or markers.

Thanks for your ideas. And you are right-I don't really mean realistic. I guess I should have said depth or dimension. I just never found any threads on how to make the die cuts look better.
