Color suggestions for Vintage Vogue & Very Vintage wheel
Please give me a couple of suggestions for this set.
I want to order the VERY VINTAGE wheel and VINTAGE VOGUE set. Please give me a couple of suggestions for what color of ink cartridges I could use with this set. What would go with this style? What color might be versatile ?
I would use it for both scrapbook pages and for cards.
I've not used it for scrapbooking, but for cards, I've used navy, chocolate chip, artichoke and rose red. I don't have the ink cartridges, but have used my stamp pads. These probably wouldn't work for scrapbook pages, but work fine for cards.
Love these stamps! Given that they are "shabby" in nature, I'd stick with softer colors. Say, a Rose Red over Real Red, Not Quite Navy over Night of Navy. I think the softer color kind of adds to the almost blurred look of the stamps. For a scrapbook, maybe one of the light browns if you've got some vintage photos...? LOL, I guess I'm no help, huh?
On Tuesday night I went to my demo's Stamper's Ten Make and Take evening. My demo Joanne let us play with some new goodies that will be available from the UK mini catty starting on 1st April. I have fallen completely and utterly in love with the Vintage Vogue stamp set!
The card we made used Rose Red, Mellow Moss and Whisper White. I really loved this combo! Here's the card we made:
I don't have the wheel but love the Vintage Vogue. I have used it alot with the incolors plus old olive. The Curry and Saffron make a nice combo too. Here are a couple of projects I made.
The first is rose red, kiwi kiss and choc chip
second is Melon Mambo, crushed curry and old olive
third is So safron (with curry ink), old olive and rich razzleberry
I have the set and the wheel - I've done a lot with certainly celery -
My main comment on the wheel - I don't use the ink cartridges. I just wheel them on the ink pad really good and I haven't had any issues. So, if you're not sure which cartridges to get, you can always try it with a few ink pads and see what color you like the most.

Any opinions?
TIA
I love close to cocoa or chocolate chip and cameo coral... or one of the grays and blush blossom
Well, I didn't think there were so many combinations to use with this set. Vintage vogue is kind of old fashioned or "vintage " as the name implies so I didn't think that the bold brights were the colors for this set but one of the other color families but which one....
It lends itself to the more earthy or dusty and lighter colors so I wll give those a try.
Thanks for the ideas to get me started. I will look at everyones suggestions and try a few out and make a few cards to see what I come up with.

I think you're correct in your thinking..... I should try the wheel on the ink pads first. I'll experiment and I'll let you know what I come up with!
Those cartridges are kinda expensive too. If I do just card sizes I will be alright. Do a few practice runs!
If I want to run the wheel on a scrapbook page I'll use that color for the cartridge. For now I'll just get a couple of empty cartridges and get a reinker or two later for my favorite colors.
I used this set for some cardmaking and scrapbooking. The color combo I loved loved loved was Pale Plum, Perfect Plum, So Saffron and Old Olive with Very Vanilla. It looked beautiful together! I did a vintage scrapbooking page of a picture of my mom when she was about 12 so the picture is over 60 years old. That color combo really complimented the sepia style picture.
The card I did was white, so saffron, taken with teal and rose red and it looks really beautiful together also.
I honestly think this stamp set and wheel can be used with any color combos...its very versatile!
