Default Alternative too SU! Thin lit dies?

Does anyone else make this type of die cheaper?

Thank you!

Spellbinders makes tons of thin metal dies. I wouldn't say they are cheaper though.

There are so many die-makers now, compared to just a year ago! But I too am often thwarted by the price. So I found some less expensive dies just last week and was sooooo excited. Here's the rub....."you get what you pay for". I've been struggling all day with dies that require at least three passes through the Big Shot to cut Gina K. cardstock my Sizzix dies cut with one pass. Bottomline, I think inexpensive dies are like inexpensive rubber stamps.....they work but they require way more time, shims, effort and patience. When I need to add so many shims, because the die is not deeply cut, I worry about the health of my expensive Big Shot and will in the future bypass the inexpensive dies.

If you are referring to the new SU thinlit dies that allow you to create flip cards, then you may want to check out the gallery here and also the technique tutorials. I know that there is a way to do it, but it's a little more complicated than a die. That's why I ordered the dies...I'm lazy that way! ;)

I just used the dies last night at a class and they are so nice and easy to make cards. I just don't like the 40.95 price for us Canadians. I know that the magnetic board direct from sizzix is 10.00 cheaper than buying from SU but I am in a hostess club and I will bide my time until it is my month and I have two items I will be getting with my 50% and credits.

I agree - I've bought les expensive dies and have had problems and the cutting edges seem to dull faster.

Check out a metal cutting plate - these really help with dies that don't cut well. I love mine and can't imagine not having one.
