Default Aleene's BoxMaker vs Scor-Pal

I have a question - I was given an Aleene's BoxMaker several years ago as a gift (and admittedly haven't used it once), and have recently been seeing lots done with the Scor-Pal, which everyone seems to love. My question is, is there a huge difference in these two products, or could I conceivably use my Box Maker for the same purposes as the Scor-Pal?

Any guidance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Gina,
I don't really know how to properly compare the two, but I will try. I got a box maker when Aleene's was a show on the country channel years and years ago. It is what I have been using in place of a scorpal due to a limited budget. With some work, I have made it work but it really doesn't compare to the scorpal. The scorpal is longer and had measurements that are all laid out for you. However, the boxmaker works on the same idea of the channels to use for scoring lines. If I need a fold that is longer than the scorpal, I just turn my paper around to add to my first scored line. I have created the boxes and cards that are done with the scorpal and they have come out very very nice. I just think it is probably taking me much longer to make them without the scorpal so I am still happy using my boxmaker. It's proven to be very functional over the years. I do use the enveloper for making envelopes and love love love it. I've read that the enveloper is better for envelopes than the scorepal. Until my budget allows, I will keep making beautiful boxes and cards with my good old boxmaker.

thanks! I still have yet to pull it out, but mostly because I just use the scoring blade on my paper cutter, but I COMPLETELY appreciate the feedback. I was beginning to think I was losing my mind even bringing up the boxmaker for fear nobody had heard of it! lol
