Default PearlEx

I love the look of this product but need help. I need to know how to use it. I bought some Gamasol and used a paint brush but it left marks. Can someone tell me the best way to use this? Also should I be using Watercolor paper? TIA for your help!

I have never used Pearl Ex with Gamsol.

I use it in different ways:

1. Apply Pearl Ex with a blender pen to the areas of the image you desire

2. Stamp image in Versamark, apply Pearl Ex with a very soft paint brush and then blow off the excess . The Versamark makes the Pearl Ex stick on the image. This looks nice especially on solid stamps

3. Mix the Pearl Ex with GUM ARABIC. This is a liquid that you can get in the art area of Michaels or in art supply stores.

Make a "paint like" solution with this combination:
a. 1 part gum arabic
b. 5 parts distilled water
c. 1 part Pearl Ex powder in your choice of color
d. stir well until all the powder is mixed into the solution and has the
consistency of paint

Now you can paint the solution on your image with a paint brush. The Pearl Ex will now brush off because the gum arabic seals it on the image.

Make this solution in small amounts because it will dry out. I use those small plastic cups that they use to give you pills in the hospital or that come with cough medicines.

Thank you for those suggestions - very helpful. I love Pearl Ex but have not used it with gum arabic - only with Versamark but then I have to seal it.

I have also used it with hair spray!! I love the effect if gives dark cardstock. Just buy a travel size bottle of pump hairspray and add a little or a lot of the pearl ex powder. Shake it up...spritz the cardstock...very shimmery!! And very easy.

You can also use it with heat and stick powder, and then there's no need to seal it.

While I love the colors that Pearl Ex comes in, you can also use Perfect Pearls. PP already has a binder in it (so no need to seal with hairspray, etc) but you can still use it the same ways as PEx.

Whoops! Sorry, I also meant to say that you can use it with a glue pen for doodles or writing - although I don't think I'd use it to address an envelope!

You can also mix it with elmers glue and then heat it up with a heat gun and it does really cool stuff.

This is a card I made a LONG time ago, but it may give you an idea of what I mean
