i am thinking of making my own 1 inch stamp pads. (stampin spots) out of ranger cut n dry pads. what's the best way to store these? i know i probably won't be able to find storage that allows me to use the pads without removing them, but that's okay. really, i just need something that will hold and separate the ink pads and be the appropriate size container. can anyone help me?
that looks about right, but how big are the spaces without the dividers? i'm afraid if i use the dividers with it the ink will seep into another compartment and ruin a different pad.
Hobby Lobby sells little plastic boxes with attached lids. They have separate compartments in them, molded in, not loose dividers. They are usually close to the jewelry supply aisle. I think a lot of people keep beads, etc in them.
I think they would work for what you have in mind. They cost a couple of bucks, but frequently are on sale, or you could use a coupon.
I have several that I keep small individual stamps in.

I forgot to add that I use a lid from some of the spots i've bought at other places to temporarily tape the cut n dry spot to for easy use so my hands don't get stained too much.
Just an idea, but what about something like a bar soap container. You know the kind you use for traveling. The hard plastic box. They are usually in the travel section. And I believe are sometimes included in the .39 sale at walgreens.

i was thinking about this, what about putting some velcro on one of my old wooden stamp blocks that i unmounted the stamp from? would this over time ruin the cut n dry pad?

What I use for my Palette Ink spots is a Large Plastic Case ( the one my TAC stamps come in. and very much like SU cases for their stamps)
I have 20 palette ink spots and 6 dew drop shape Versa Magic spots.
I also use the Plastic cases to store my regular full size ink pads too. I don't have that many of them. So it works out great for me.
Plus I have take them when I go to a crop night without loosing them
I don't know about using velcro with the cut n dry pads. The gray bottom would not stick to the velcro by itself so you would have to add the other part of the velcro on the bottom of the pad. I think this would end up costing a little more money and your pads wouldn't lie flat on their bottoms, limiting your storage options.
It never occurred to me to try the wooden blocks as spot holders (even though I use them for other things). I think I'll try double sided tape on the wooden block with the spot. Thanks for the idea. I wonder if tack n peel would work on a wooden block to hold a spot. Maybe ATIOAO on the wooden block would also work. New options to try!

Reason: Bad spelling mistake!
Have you thought about using those weekly pill containers, the ones that you fill up once a week! Each compartment has it's own lid and would be airtight for a stamping spot!
okay, i just got back from hobby lobby. they had bead storage on sale, so i ended up getting a few things that look like little tackle boxes, each compartment has it's own little lid. i also bought a package of the little bags in case i decide i need to use that as well. the TIOAO idea is great, i think i'll try that first, as i don't have any velcro on hand! you guys are so helpful, thank you!
