Default Need some good marker recommendations, please!

I don't have any markers right now. I would like to find a reasonably priced, basic set that family could get me for Christmas. Probably not more than $30 or so.

Any suggestions?

I have a set of Bic Mark its and I really like them. There's only 36 markers, so not a huge amount of colors, but I've been pretty happy with the results. I got them at Target and I think I paid about $20 for them. They may have been on sale, I don't remember.

Are you talking about water-based or alcohol based markers? For that sort of price, Marvy aren't bad as water-based.

I bought a set of 24 Sharpie markers to start with. I like them but do wish there were more colors. Can you use the Sharpie with the Bic? I'd like to have more earth tone colors.
