I am a new Cuttlebug owner-got mine on April 2. Love the 'lil guy'!!! It's like magic the way, with so little effort, the embossed design comes through on cs. Right now, I am just trying/practicing embossing for card fronts. (You crafters set some awesomely (sp?) high standards!)
This is my question-Why isn't the name of the particular design on the folder anywhere? Some of the designs are sort of similar at a glance-swirlies, textures, etc. It could be above the Cuttlebug or Provo Craft label/name. Can you write it on yourself with fine point permanent marker in this 'dead space' without it coming off on either the top, inside (since there is no design there anyway) or on the back? Since I am new, does everyone just save all the packaging (cardboard backing & plastic covering) and store the folders this way? Just a new CB owner's question.
I also would like to see the carrier the crafter who was going on vacation mentioned.
I keep the card from the packaging and use it as 'dividers' in a storage box designed for CDs (with no lid on - the folders stick up above the height of the box, IYSWIM). I just slip the folder in front of the card divider and can then see the name/design at the top of the card as I flip through. Hope that made sense!
I store my Cuttlebug embossing folders in zip baggies that are attached to a rigid plastic sheet that fits in a loose leaf binder. I got them on clearance at my local independent scrapbook store.
I don't really keep the packaging for the folders. I see no need to. I can see the design by looking at the folder very well. I really don't have any reason to remember the name of the folder either. I just go by what it looks like. I use mine so much, I know what the design looks like.
Each person is different and what ever works for you is what you use.
I used a label maker & put the label (I used clear tape) at the top of the embossing folder. It looks very neat...I like neat, not that a person would know that looking at my work area!!!
Thanks for all the great ideas. A few days ago I made a card and used a folder and when I was loading it here on SCS I couldn't remember the name of it.. I guess I need to get out my label maker and get some labels on them things.
Pam

I wrote the name of the folder and the date I purchased it on the folder. I am still wondering how long the plastic folders will hold up. I use mine all the time and from time to time I have to put the name and date back on it, but its worth it. I feel like if I have used it enough to wear the marker off, I have gotten my money out it. (ha)
I'm so glad to have seen this thread! I have kept the packaging so I could remember the name (for card "recipes") and now I will just label them and pitch the packaging.
