I don't see that shipping option. They gave several options, but the least expensive was $12 something. Either they have changed the shipping options or do you have a hint as how to get the lesser shipping. Thanks.

I first saw this tip in Jennifer McGuire's videos (quite a few months ago?). That's also where I saw the washi tape suggestion for the first time. In her videos she always provides links to the products she used and so I saw that online stamp stores are now starting to carry these magnets.

To my knowledge, the Sweet Petunia store (MISTI Iliana's store) now carries the bar magnets and definitely the Simon Says Stamp online store also carries them. So if you happen to be shopping at either of those places, you could add one to your order rather than buy it by itself and have shipping issues with such a small item.

I got one of the bar magnets months ago, after seeing Jen use it in a video. I started with cute washi tape as a grab-tab and after replacing it about 4 times I changed to a strip of packing tape with a tail. It's not as cute, but it's mor reliable and durable than washi tape.

I like the bar magnet since it only requires one. Sometimes the round ones allow better coverage on the polymer stamps. Maybe the bar is a hair thicker. I bot my bar at SSS.

I must have seen the same video Susy did. I also saw a video months ago, but just couldn't bring myself to pay over $7 for a magnet. (Which is really silly considering how much I spend on stamps & stuff.) I finally caved and bought a couple for my MISTIs and am kicking myself for not buying them months ago. Love, love them.

A single layer of washi tape was not strong enough, so I just put about 4 layers of washi tape to make it thicker. Works great so far.

I got this one and like you, Pam, hesitated, but am glad I jumped. Free Prime shipping, at least: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It was $6.45 when I bought it; now it's $7.36. We probably drove the price up.

It wouldn't be the first time we've driven the price of something up on Amazon. I can think of a few things that Jennifer McGuire mentioned and within days the price jumped. lol

Such power... or lack thereof.

BTW, the magnet was packaged carefully. It was in a tiny, hard cardboard roll with foam, and that was in another box. It might break fairly easily and could stick to metal objects outside the package if not padded well.

I know, mine was packed that way tube. I really had to fight my pack rat tendencies and force myself to throw the tube with the foam and little round plastic rings away. It was so sturdy, and the foam fit on the ends so perfectly. I ordered 2 and each one came in their own tube.

Ditto - the not wanting to toss the tube! In fact I may have it in items-without-a-home box. If nothing else, it could be used as a Gelli Plate polka dot maker (on end).

I know this is an older post but has anyone found a Canadian source for these magnets? Amazon.com won't ship them to Canada and one of the other links would but the shipping started at $10, even higher than the cost of the item. Thanks in advance!

Leslie, here's where I got mine: http://www.scrappingreatdeals.com/Misti-Stamp-Tool/

I've shopped a lot from this online Canadian store. Yes, the prices are higher than U.S. counterparts, but I've had great service every time and I find the owner does her best to keep costs reasonable. And of course, no duty fees, cross-border shipping issues, etc.

I just ordered and received some bar magnets that are 2 inches long and 1/2 inch wide and they are so strong that I'll have to be really careful with them. When I first took them out of the package, my small scissors flew off the table and grabbed onto them...so be cautious! I had some small disc magnets already on my Misti, and these jumped up and stuck to the bars too..eek! Once I got them all settled down, it was better but these are much stronger than the discs and two of them stuck together already. I'm wondering if covering them with washi (or packing tape, as someone recommended) will decrease the strength just a teeny bit? I could do with something not quite as strong and hard to move around .

Although I’m sure it wasn’t funny when things were flying off your desk, your detailed description made me laugh. I had a magnet fly off my desk at least two years ago and I’ve no idea what it attached to, but still haven’t found it. Ever so often I still search for it😄.

Hmm, I guess I can count myself lucky that none of those magnets have flown OFF my desk because then I'd go crazy looking for it. I'm still looking for a clear stamp that went missing from a stamp set, and it's been 8 years!!
