Microscope slides
Does anyone know where to buy microscope glass slides or the memory glass slides? I have only a few left of the 2x2 and the 1x3 sizes from Ranger Inkssentials, and I need more but I can't find them anywhere online.

I purchase from this shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/GlassSuppl...tion_leftnav_2 been very happy with quality. I solder with the glass. The faceted glass is very pretty.
Ranger may have discontinued the memory glass. Their website seems to be down at the moment but you can order from them (if they still have them).

I checked Ranger - they don't have them any longer that I could find - except the frosted. I also checked with Stampington - not there either.
I'm hoping for a regular, reliable supplier, instead of buying three packages here or there from three different places that only have a limited supply at random times.
Interesting thought about the faceted but I'm still hoping for just clear microscope slides though.

Thanks for the etsy listing - if nothing else pans out, I may have to get them there.

Thanks. I'm pretty sure there's a splitcoast tutorial on making the ornaments, if you're interested

Try paperwishes.com and search under memory glass. It looks like they still have some Ranger ones available.

You could always check out actual microscope slides (as opposed to memory glass). My best guess is that these were initially used before Ranger starting making them. THIS WEBSITE seems to have reasonable prices and a selection of styles/sizes...

I got all excited about Paper Wishes - I forgot to check with them - but when you follow the links the product is no longer available :(

Yeah - I thought about that too. I just wasn't sure about how they'd work in crafting...heating and inking and fitting in the slide frames and mailers and stuff.

A lot of times manufacturers/vendors will send samples so that you can see if their product will work for you before you invest in a "real" order. Check to see if there's a "contact us" link and ask...?

I can remember seeing a lot of projects in magazines over here using actual microscope slides and mailers, when the Ranger ones became available. Like Gregzgurl, I'd guess they are exactly the same thing.

I know you're not interested in the Etsy shop I shared but I solder those glass pieces with no issues and that is very high heat right on the glass.

I'm not not interested in the etsy shop. Thank you very much for the link. Mostly I'm looking for the 2x2s and the only ones I saw on the etsy site were in a combo pack with another size (maybe 1x1s? I couldn't tell) - I only want the 2x2s and 1x3s. And now that they're proving so hard to find I want quite a few and the etsy shop only had three available.
I'm sure you're right about them being great for soldering. I'm being somewhat cautious now bc I just bought some slides that were too thin and cracked when I tried to seal the edges, so I appreciate the first-hand knowledge

Really? You found some? Excellent! When I searched eBay every listing I could find for the clear 2x2s either couldn't be found or was no longer available. I'll check again. Thx
