Default Martha Stewart deep edge punches

I just got my first MS deep edge punch (creepy fence) and it does not want to cut cleanly. I was wondering if anyone has the same experience? It Does not matter what weight of paper I use and, I cut through lots of foil with no improvement. I do not seem to have this problem with the regular edge punches so... I wonder if I got a dud :( I am able to lightly sand the paper afterwards and it does help. Anyone have any suggestions? I got this from a kit on HSN and really do not want to send the whole thing back!

I have that punch but never had a problem with it. Am sure it is the same one. I used it and put little flowers on it also could be used other times than Halloween. I have gotten so I buy all MS punches at Michaels. They are really good at exchanging defective punches or refunding. I only use Stampin Up cardstock except for the white I get at Staples. Maybe go to the MS site and go to customer service. Maybe they can help you! Good Luck!!

I have the deep edge Iron Fence. The one with bat wings on some of the posts. Mine worked fine in various weights of c/s. I would do as the OP suggested-go through customer service.

I had bought one at Michaels and it wouldn't cut - period. I returned it and didn't try a different one. I have alot of her punches and never had a problem so I could have just been stuck with a defective one.

I tried calling MS Crafts customer service but they were already closed. So , I ended up calling HSN and am getting a exchange for the set. Crossing my fingers I get a good replacement I was always hesitant on purchasing things like this online incase there was a issue but their customer service was great. If I end up getting a good replacement I will probably buy online again. They seem to offer some MS punches that are not available elsewhere. Thanks everyone!

I have not seen this punch yet. Sounds neat! I know HSN will be having a MSC show on Nov. 15th. Might check that out to see if they will have it?

I think the MS punches suffer from the same quality control bug that can be everywhere. Usually her punches work flawlessly. I purchased a punch from her and it would not cut at all....no matter the paper I put in. I took it back, exchanged it and when I got home it too would not punch. I took that one back and I opened up the punch packages until I found one that would cut (took three to do it). This not the usual as I have most of her border punches etc. and I love her products.

Good to know Cathy I usually prefer to buy punches locally just in case I have issues with them. But, sometimes the selection is limited compaired to online. I guess That if I choose to continue to purchase any online I will cross my fingers and hope for a decent workng punch!

I love the MS punches! Haven't had problems with any of mine yet, but I am sure that it happens occasionally just like everything else. Recently, I have been getting more and more of her stuff, as I have been really happy with the quality of all of the products I have tried from her line.
