I have been trying to make the pillow boxes out of vellum cs for my daughter's baby shower and I'll never do it again. The vellum cs is awful to work with and not forgiving at all and even cracks if you aren't really careful. It's almost impossible to fold the ends in. I did use the crease pad that goes with the BS so know that that isn't the problem.
Do you have something with the same gentle curve as the end that you could press it up against to help? I know that can be frustrating when you want something to look perfect and it doesn't cooperate! I wonder if misting it before you fold it and then letting it dry would help.
I wonder if you could use parchment paper instead?
There is supposed to be a vellum cardstock which is thicker than regular vellum paper, but I haven't seen it the the regular stores (Michaels and JoAnns).
I've made boxes out of Pergamano Parchment Vellum and it worked fine. Pergamano is made to be embossed and to be finely/delicately cut so it stretches pretty well for folds - it does help to use one of the special Pergamano embossing tools to score the lines. Here are a couple examples from their members gallery that shows it's flexibility: Click on the pics to enlarge------
Hi Ladies, I actually made them all but just wanted to let others know in case you every want to make them. I would stick to pattern paper. Thanks for all your help. Carol
I'm making the boxes for a friends wedding and I'm using the very vanilla cardstock and they're coing out great. I had thought about vellum sure glad I didn't think too hard about it and stuck to the cardstock.
I used SU vellum for pillow box for baby shower. After cut, i embossed with cbug swiss dot EF. I didnot have a problem. Also used SU dsp too. Wonder if the thickness mattered.

I made the pillow boxes for my craft fair this year, using transparencies for a laser printer (they are a little thicker) and stamped them with white stazon snowflakes. I did have to use the both shims and crease pad with it, but then came out awesome and very easy to fold! And they were great sellers, too!
Angie Juda has a great video tutorial on her blog: http://www.chicnscratch.typepad.com/stampinacademy/ scroll down to pillow boxes, it's on page 2!
Have fun-the possibilities are endless with this!
