I have to make envelopes for some odd shaped cards I was asked to make. (I could not convince them to make regular sizes and they want the cards to "fit" in the envelopes)...
So I have my MS scoring tool, have my envelopes scored and now I am not sure what to use to hold them together? I need to make 100 envelopes.
glue - tape - maybe a special envelope sticking fairy dust?
I have tape, but it is too wide for the parts of the envelope that overlap? and I am not interested in spending a TON of money for glue for envelopes, ykwim, Does anyone have any sort of cheap suggestions? I know they will give me more money if I have extra expenses, but I would like to try to stick with the original price.
i was thinking about glue sticks... but am worried about the mess. then I thought I could eliminate the mess by cutting a square of waxed paper to place inside the envelope? to catch the mess
I have not seen the bottle of envelope glue that Lydia mentioned, I will see if our local stationary stores have it.
LYDIA - is that the best place? I did look through Michael's and did not see anything there.
scor-tape is not available in my area, and i have never ordered any thing on line so I canot get that. I do have some red sticky tape, but that is very expensive so I would prefer not to use that.

I've done something similar - I actually used a laminated piece of cardstock, folded the envelope edges over it then glued them so any glue that squished out got on the laminate, and didn't stick to it. Wax paper would do the same thing, but it might work better if you kind of wrapped it around a piece of cardstock to give it a little more body (makes it easier to pull back out after the glue dries)
The envelope glue (I think) is glue just for the envelope flap - you put it on, let it dry and then you lick it or moisten it to get it to stick again (like a purchased envelope) Here's a link to a couple of different recipes if you want to try making it yourself: Envelope Glue
Although I usually just use some sort of double-stick tape with a liner for my flaps
