liquid pearls substitute
just wanted to let everyone know, those of you who heard about liquid pearls on this forum and don't wanna wait for a shipment... i was just at michael's yesterday and bought scribbles iridescent 3d paint in gold, white, light blue, and light pink. they are in the fabric paint section for 99 cents a piece, and work great! i've never had the original liquid pearls to compare to, but they are exactly what i imagined, and make great perfect little pearls on the page! (you do have to tap the cardstock to even the pearl shape out as someone posted on a previous thread.) just wanted to let you all know, for those of you who are as impatient as me!

I've also been using Scribbles, but didn't know they have iridescent colors - thanks for the tip! I'll have to check the craft store this weekend!

Also, are they acid & lignin free? I use the liquid pearls on my scrapbook pages, so don't want to use anything that could damage them.

I know they're acrylic, and dimensional - they don't self level like most acrylic paints. Unfortunately I've only used them on fabrics until I recently when I started using them on paper. I've looked all over but not been able to find if they're acid free. For me it isn't an issue though, because I don't use them when I scrapbook - I do that digitally.

i applied mine and they were dry six hours later, but they definately don't dry fast, don't go touching or you'll smudge them.

i spent the other day looking around at various vendors, trying to find one that would sell liquid pearls, stickles, and a few other things i wanted. i think i'd have to find a bigger retailer... i couldn't find one that had all the things that i wanted, so i gave up and went to micheal's also, i went to wal-mart after that, i think they have scribbles for 77 cents, and big things of glitter glue in a few colors that are comparable to stickles, they were 3 oz containers for 1.48.

Thanks Rachel for your reply. I really think the only way to purchase Liquid Pearls is online. Like you, I have been to Michaels, JoAnn's, AC Moore, Target. No one sells the pearls or stickles. I got my stickles from scrapbookpal online, but at the time they didn't have the liquid pearls. I also purchase my permanent adhesive through them at 2.99 each. Not a bad price.
