Default Honeycomb w/Sizzix

It works! I had some small, white, honeycomb bells left from a bridal shower I hosted a while back. I went into my party deco container and dug one out. I positioned the spine at the half way mark on one of Tim Holtz' flower dies, and cut it with my Vagabond. It came out perfect! I clipped it open and lightly misted it with two tones of pinkish distress inks. Turned out beautiful! I haven't put it in a card yet but I'll probably use it soon. By the way, I got those little bells a couple yrs ago at my local dollar store. I think they were three or four in a pack for $1. Cheap to try before you invest in the "real thing." Note that since the outer cardboard on the bell might be a bit too thick for the score lines, you could score the lines a bit wider, or peel off half the thickness of the outer cardboard. I'll have to check that out when I make my card.

I didn't realize someone was now making paper!! I did a honeycomb Christmas ornament with a Christmas ornament die cut template last fall that is very easy. I updated it and did a honeycomb heart tutorial on Valentines day last February. Just recently I showed a box topper made using the same technique It's very easy to do. I created the honeycomb as I assembled it and used double sided paper for good contrast. On the box topper I used stamped tissue paper and it went together like a dream.

Default Honeycomb Paper

I saw the stamps and honeycomb paper at the Memories Expo in Columbus, OH in March and was immediately addicted! I bought all but one of the stamp sets and a pack of each color paper! I've played around with them and they really are a hit!

I found larger pieces and an assortment of colors of honeycomb paper on line at http://www.devra-party.com/arts-and-crafts-supplies. You can get 12 pieces of 10 x 15 inches in assorted colors for about $16 plus shipping.

Becca - Your ornament is gorgeous and the tutorial is wonderful...I can't wait to try it.

I think I will also order some pre-made Honeycomb paper.

Default Lets talk honeycomb paper, shall we

I picked some up at Archivers when I went to the Rubber Stamp Expo in St. Paul last month. I have made one card but frankly I think the paper is pretty expensive. Its 6.99 for 1 sheet of 5x7 paper. Now if you are only using a very small circle for a balloom you can get a lot of cuts, and you have to cut in a specific direction. If you pick the toadstool ( mine) or palm tree etc you are going to get much less out of your piece of paper.

I have also wondered about trying it with some paper I have from some old wedding shower decorations ( bells). Nothing to loose by trying.

They are cute, but I think I will use the stamps more on their own as opposed to buying the paper one at a time for each color at that price.

HoneyPop Five and Dime

and

Texas Calls me Home

I just saw some of the new colors that came out in a store in Nasvhille, IN. Ah, this could be addictive.

You don't have to use the honeycomb paper to get lots of fun projects from the stamp sets...but it sure is a fun look. I like the very simple shapes the best...the cupcake makes me laugh!!

I would love to see your finished projects!
happy Stamping!

Great job on the stamps!! I got mine at One Little Spark in NJ and have had a ball with them. The baking kitty in my favorite!

I have nto see it in either of these stores. I think you have to order it online if you dont have a store near by like Archivers for example. I have seen a number of places that carry it ,but because I think its too pricy I did not pay attention to where they were. Sorry I could not give you better source.

YOu are talented and creative! I bought the cupcake one at my Archiver's and now I want the frog set for Halloween. I loved honeycomb as a child and this took me back to then....

I purchased the frog this spring, but when I stamped it out I noticed he does not have a very cute face like the others. I have used the turtle which I think is cuter as well as several other of the images. The frog looks more like a toad to me.... just my two cents .

The nice thing about the inkyantic paper is the combs are tiny. I just saw them at the Westminster, MD, show and instantly fell in love. I want to try a sizzix die and see if I can come up with some things of my own. The stamp sets are so darned cute, I'll still buy.

I was at the Mall of America last weekend and Inky Antics was there demonstrating this in front of the Archiver's store. It was cute, and very easy!

Oh my goodness! It's been too long since I visited this thread! I love all of the beautiful cards you are making with my honeypop stamp sets! We've had a great response to the stamps and by now you have seen the new Christmas and cooking sets! We just finished up the Easter and spring sets and you will soon see some adorable new ways to use this paper! Keep up the great work. I'm drooling as I explore all of your creations! I can draw, but I'm not so good at cardmaking! You all inspire me! --Tammy DeYoung

I have made these cards using the inky antics sets from my Archivers. They are really easy and got the best reaction, as they are "new" again. The new video on Tim's blog is crazy with possibilities and thankfully I only need the paper, because I already have the dies he demoed with.

Last week I stumbled across honeycomb paper and stencil sets, made by Colorbok, at Joann's near my office. Paper comes in about 10 different colors, 4x6, and it didn't seem pricey. I only bought one pack of stencils-each of 4 4x6 sheets has several shapes for both the honeycomb element and base pieces, ie leaves of flowers. I've only tried one, and maybe it's my old, arthritic fingers, but it's a bit on the challenging side to work with/unfold, after I've cut it out. Any suggestions? TIA.
