Default Lace Ribbon Border Punch

Well I go to use this punch the first time and it sticks badly and cuts poorly.. I guess I know now why SU retired it *sigh*

Try punching through some foil or some fine sand paper. Sounds like it needs to be sharpened. Sorry you're having a problem, mine punches fine.

Calgrammas is good advice, also for sticking, try punching through some waxed paper, or rubbing a little beeswax onto the punch. (Available from anywhere you can get quilting supplis). If you have a good solid type of Beeswax polish you could use that.
One other thing, is the weight of the cardstock. Some punches are really only meant for using with (typically) a copy paper weight - whilst others are intended to cut through thin card.

I can only get mine to work with cheap, thin cardstock, even after I tried sharpening it. It's the only SU punch I ever had any trouble with, ever.

I would check with your demo about getting a possible replacement. Mine works fine with SU cardstock. I did not need to sharpen it with foil or punch through wax paper. It is harder to punch than simpler designs though like a circle or square, but that is the norm for the more intricate punches.

Sometimes the two parts of the die are just not lined up properly. I have one punch that I have to push on the front end slightly while I'm punching to make sure the whole punch doesn't flex and go out of alignment. Apart from the actual die, these punches are plastic and will flex quite a bit under the pressure.
