I have two Fiskars paper trimmers...one purchased from Stampin' Up and another from OfficeMax....and both cut my cardstock with "furry" edges. I've replaced blades, cleaned it, tried different amount of pressure....I don't get it.
I've never had so much trouble with a paper trimmer. It trims all paper the same whether it's DSP or regular Stampin' Up cardstock...furry edges that I have to sand....Or I just go cut it in my ginormous Carl Cutter.
Does anyone else have this issue? This cannot be user error LOL!

If you have a rotary trimmer with a yellow strip (the Rotary Cut Bar) that the cutting blade cuts into, try turning it around or turning it over. If you are using a cutter with one of the tiny blades, maybe the track it is on has spread so the blade is actually traveling at an angle (kind of like riding side-saddle or being out of alignment, if that makes sense). Fiskars has an online chat weekdays from 8 am to 5 pm CST, and maybe they could help you. ... These are such simple machines, you'd think they'd have them perfected by now!
I had the same problem with my Fiskar's trimmer too. No matter what I did, I had furry edges. Drove me nuts. So, I switched to the SU! table top cutter, with a guillotine type of blade and I absolutely love it! Cuts like a dream. No more furry edges.
I think the small orange tab isn't aligned correctly. As suggested above, try contacting Fiskars, although I suggest not bothering with email, as they haven't answered emails I've sent them. Try their online chart first.
I had the same problem and after seeing this thread and talking to some friends I contacted Fiskars to complain. They first sent me a new ruler which did not solve the problem. Then I reported to them again and they sent me a new cutter. This one is doing its job just fine and I truly like it. It is way better than my little old cutter, with a rectangular surface that is straight on all sides, it has a lock for the ruler/guide. It is well worth to contact them. I did it via web site, attached a photo of the cutter along with some paper cut showing the furry edges.
Best luck.
