Default Ink for fabric ??

I just saw the cutest baby gift idea..stamped onsies. But there weren't any product details..

What do you stamp AND color with on fabric? I know it probably has more staying power if you wash them first...but what do you color with? My husbands bro & his wife are expecting their 3rd child in March and they already have everything so I thought some stamped onsies would be a cute idea. (She wont appreciate them TRUST ME...I KNOW) but I will enjoy doing it

Tsukineko make an ink called Versacraft - it comes in pads and as markers. Just iron it to make it permanent once it has dried on your fabric. I haven't used the markers but I can vouch for the permanence of the ink as I used it to stamp onesies for a friend and they washed just fine.

You're right about it being best to wash the onesies first to get rid of any dressing in the fabric.

Have fun!

Here's a cute one: Projects | Craft Tutorials | Fabric | Perfect Painted Onesie | Ranger Ink

You can stamp with fabric paint, too.

Be sure you wash the onsies first...no softener in either the washer or dryer. Press smooth, if necessary. I use Clearsnap Crafters or Ancient Page; heat set when dry. If you color the images, use either a stamping ink suitable for fabric or texile markers...heat set when dry.

I've been stamping on fabric for about 16 years...love it!

I stamped on fabric with Palette inks and had great results with it.
