Default I Need Your Suggestions

Hello Everybody,

Does anyone know of a brand of strong glue for paper crafting?

I am making 25 of the Our Daily Bread Timeless Totes (small purses- I'll try to attach an image). I am making them with metallic cover cardstock that has a shimmer and I have been using Scor-Tape to adhere them which works well enough in most places but I noticed today that the paper is coming apart on the outside pockets and the mesh-looking end pockets.

I thought I would try to reinforce those places with glue but don't know which brand is good.

I'd greatly appreciate some suggestions. :([IMG]

Thanks,
Jean

I use Beacon Fabritac for everything. Dries clear, can reposition if needed. Cut the applicator lid close to the very tip so you can dispense a very thin line of glue. Also, use 100% acetone fingernail polish remover to thin glue if needed. I have tried tape runners and always return to using Beacon Fabritac. Also can apply ribbon and embellishments beautifully. As with anything, it takes a little getting used to. Your purses are fabulous!!!!

I used DAP RapidFuse for a few paper projects and have been very pleased with the results: Amazon.com: DAP 00155 0.85 oz Rapid Fuse Fast Curing All Purpose Adhesive: Home Improvement

I don't have an adhesive to add to the discussion. I just wanted to say that the bags are absolutely adorable. I love the patterns you chose.

Last week I was working on this year's Papertrey Ink Make It Market Kit which makes a box and you use a tiny magnet to close it. The how-to videos used a liquid glue to adhere the magnets (no brand name shown) and at one point in the video, the glue didn't hold and the sample was just pushed to the side. When I made the box, I used Scor-Tape for the magnet and it held for a little bit but then, that too gave way. I pushed the magnet back into the Scor-Tape then used Ranger Multi-Medium around the edges to seal it to the Scor-Tape and the cardstock. So far, its holding and I've opened that box numerous times testing it out. Maybe if you can get some of the Multi-Medium into the separations that will join the Scor-Tape and the cardstock.

I also have that Tote die and plan on using this method with the magnets to secure the purse/pocket flap. I love your work, those totes are beautiful!

I've been using regular tacky glue for many things lately, including bags and boxes.

This may not help for your particular application, but in a book making workshop, the instructor, who has decades of book binding and crafting experience, reminded us more than once to burnish ScorTape before removing the backing strip.

Of course it’s easy if the project is flat, but once it’s in 3D form, can be difficult or not possible.

And the widest/longest possible was recommended.

I use Tombow mono multi for all things paper. The Turbo Tacky Glue works well too.

Hi from Truman Lake!
